Sorry for the wait guys. My Mac book crashed and I'm waiting for the applebots at the Mac store to heal it.

In the meantime here's a picture of me with one of our old friends.

I know that guy...the one on the right!

It's odd in some ways because Jason's FO view was something we hadn't seen in months, yet that's where the clues were.

As a 20-ish handicapper, Jason will be better off early extending a bit (he probably won't early extend - but he actually compresses down currently) and getting his left shoulder kicking up and left harder (via his hips) will help the DSS stay inside his hands slightly. He can show you videos where the sweetspot passes six inches inside his hands, or more, because he rips the left shoulder up more (and sooner) in his downswing.

It's a "swing flaw" for a five handicapper, but we'll worry about that when Jason's a five… if you know what I mean.

P.S. So what I mean by "odd" is that the FO view shows us some things to fix in the DL view. Plus, you can notice the back ball position and some other stuff as well, especially given his pattern of shots to the right, but mainly it's interesting how the FO sheds light on the DL view.

P.P.S. Shoulders actually steepened from 4-5.

WOW, thats substantial progress in just 2 days! Good job! Looking forward to seeing you consolidate on that good work over the next few weeks and months :-)

It seems like a few days in that magical studio in Erie and people can change the picture more significantly than in the entire past year.

I hope you're right, pretty sick of being a 20+.

I still haven't had much luck drawing the ball, my standard flight is a push which I have to embrace as it is a key part of my progression to a better swing. If I can figure out how to keep it in the fairway with my push until I slowly work on getting it to curve back, I'll be in business. Plan will be to stand on the right side of every tee box and aim for safe area on the left (just in case it decides to end up there) and then go find it and do it again. :-P Gonna be a least another month before I get to hit a course.

Yeah, really. You've got a great looking swing for a 20.

I am more a fan of teeing up on the left side of the box. Then just aim straight to the center of the fairway. If you push it you should be in the right center to right edge of the fairway. If you hit a push draw, you should be near the center. If you pull it slighly, you would be on the left side. I am not sure I am a fan of teeing up right and aiming left. the only problem would be if you end up pull it, then its LEFT!!!

For me, I always want to guard against the left. For me its hard to really hit a HUGE push. So I rather play towards the right than the left. If I end up pulling it, its usually a slight pull cut, so that ends up ok.

Yeah, really. You've got a great looking swing for a 20.

We expect monthly updates to that handicap, should be dropping like a brick

Also, maybe I should bring up again that you can take and export screenshot directly in Analyzr, with notes attached? You can also get rid of the degree number by holding down Command while you draw the line.

For me its hard to really hit a HUGE push.

I can hit epic ones! :-$ I have to be really careful because Erik said to make sure I don't do anything to reduce the push if it's at the expense of the path. I have to be OK with a push or I'll regress (and probably lose my Stupid Monkey badge too). So, with that in mind, I think it'll be right side of the tee box for a while.

Oh yeah  I forgot about that. I left the degrees in because I wanted to see the axis tilt in numbers.

I can look at this all day, and probably will. :-)

Are you sure you're not lying about that 6.7 cap?  I'm pretty sure pushing it, straight or with a baby fade, two fairways over is the easiest shot in golf.  If that's hard to hit...

    • For someone with a very consistent swing speed and ball strike, upgrades may improve performance. For everyday golfers, probably not. I'm a rather odd player. I usually get best performance from basic pro or tour heads, but with lighter stock shaft from the model's standard driver set up. (Yes, current EXS is an exception.) When I get a full driver fitting, I usually try a couple of modest upgrade  (not super magic) shafts. Most of the time upgrade gives a couple of extra yards, or 10 yards less. Remember this about stock shafts: They are matched to a particular driver model to fit the type of player likely to adopt that model. Also, most OEMs offer a variety of stock shafts in their drivers. Test for which one works best. And, the final decider...
    • Uh, seeing you're having trouble with hit-and-miss performance from inherited clubs... Get Fitted! IF the 910H pair don't work, swap them out. Also, only two degrees separation in loft is not much. You might consider a 4W (much more reliable than a 3W) plus hybrid. This would give more distance separation than two Hs. For hybrid, get one you can hit... Maybe a more benevolent 4H. Quite often I try to brand match my bridge clubs (FWs and Hs), and my irons and wedges... but not always. Whatever works!
    • Like others have said, get fitted. Since 2011, I have played some combination of 4W + 7W. I had a Cobra 3H and 4H a couple of years back, and would swap out the 7W for a 3H in cold months (keep out of cold wind, and rough thinner for wayward drives.) The 7W matched up with yardage often with 3H; the current 4H goes almost as long as 7W, but has a lower trajectory. 4H also bumped out 4i in last bag redo; I learned to hit stinger with 4H so that's my driving iron on tight holes with shallow landing area. Again, a side-by-side test will tell you which way to go. If 5W or 3H is meh, keep the 7W. Also, are you looking to replace the 7W with a 5W or 3H, or add a second bridge club (5W or 3H) to your bag?
    • Makes sense and aligns with other literature. Static stretching, especially for longer durations, can impede performance in strength and power activities. I would not want to do like hamstring, quad, and calf stretches then go immediately sprint. To me that sounds like a terrible Idea. I would rather start off walking, then jogging, then running, then ramp up to sprinting.  To me, static stretching isn't even a warmup activity. I like the term warmup; you want to get some exertion going before the activity.      a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; }
    • Going to Florida for the usual February golf trip, and with our current weather, that date won't get here soon enough. Heading to Augusta GA for the Tuesday Master's practice round, will definitely get some golf in while I'm in the area for a few days. Hope to be able to catch up with @coachjimsc if he's around. Then it's back to Scotland first of July.  Playing 7 new courses, can't wait for that.  Then somewhere after that is the Rhode Island CC Member-Guest and then my normal October golf trip to Myrtle Beach.
