Perfect, I was going to buy a net and one of those pads but the place I live the net would probably get mangled by local kids if I left it up over night (northern Saskatchewan, woo!) so this is perfect for me.

Yeah, you can buy commercial ones but they just break. I replace the wiffle ball after a couple practice sessions as it starts to get eff'd up. Very cost effective.

EJ, have you set up your Gamegolf yet?  What is your screen name so I can follow you?

Nope, it's still in the box. It's been pretty tough to get out golfing so far this year. Seems to be guaranteed to piss rain anytime I've got the time. I'll definitely post when I get set-up.

Yep. I've only played about 5 times this year. By this time last year I probably had around 25 rounds in.

Finally got a chance to get 9 holes in. Night golf but I'll take it! Pretty rusty and some serious blow-up holes but I also had a lot of bogeys which I prefer to doubles and "others" lol. Lost my ball way too often in places I'd likely find it during the day, but whatevs, I'm just happy to get out there! Putting and shortgame where decent considering the long layoff, long game was close to decent but just not close enough to keep the penalties off the card. It may be the hardest game on Earth, but it's still the funnest .

Quick little update about me and golf, for those that give a shit. I've been relatively quiet (for me) on the forum simply because I haven't been playing golf. New job has been a whirlwind of travel and learning new skills or adapting old ones. I've only played 6 rounds or so this year, all of which have been pretty awful as I haven't had the time to practice and commit to the sport this year, and it seems a little silly to make 20+ comments a day on a site devoted to a sport I don't currently have time for. I'm looking forward to next season as I will be more comfortable with my new gig and better prepared to integrate my golf needs to it. I'll be experienced enough to which business trips to bring the clubs on. ;-) I'm taking a week off in October and the (wonderful) wife agrees I should play golf every one of those days to make up for what amounts to a lost season. Rest assured fair friends, I will be back!

No more silly than the rest of us commenting - even if we do play on a regular basis. Besides, your posts are more entertaining than most.

Good luck with the new job and with getting back in the game.

Nah, never silly just to chat among friends, even if you're not really playing.

Make sure you take good care of the wife :-)

It's always good to chat more with you. Post more, even if you are not actually playing rounds. Do the 5 minute practice challenge too!

Looking forward to many golf posts from you this up coming year as well! :-)

Two birdies in nine holes?? That's pretty awesome... But WTF? Why did you 3 putt from ten feet? Do you ever travel south into N.Y.?

It's pretty rare, I mostly work in Canada, occassionly travel to the States for conferences and/or training. If I ever get the chance to get out your way with a bag of sticks I'll definitely let you know. I gotta warn you though, I have been known to smuggle liquor onto the course!
