They did that pretty bad on House earlier this season too. When it was live it ran right before a commercial by Ford, where they again explained the car's feature that they talked about in the episode: [VIDEO]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLK0Vvo9_d4[/VIDEO] Friday Night Lights also managed to make Under Armour looks like saints early in season 4.

I agree, it's one thing to have a product "placed" in a scene but when the writers actually write a commercial into the script it's gone too far.  House used to be one of my favorite shows, but the writing has been subpar even aside from the in-scene commercials.

Meh. I would much rather have product placement in shows than less channel choices and all channels disabling fast forwarding during on demand playback.

I want my shows to be focused on a plot. Do a good job of making a show (or movie) focused on a story. I don't want anything extra. I'll gladly pay a small fee if it means no product placement, or better yet no ads. Talk about violating the 4th wall. I'm just worried that there will come a time where it's hard to tell where the story ends and the commercial begins?

Yeah, I'd rather deal only with commercials than break the fourth wall. I'd rather have all commercials and no product placement. At least I can edit away the ads or buy a digital version without commercials.

I agree with the above poster - the fourth wall is inviolate.

Although I wouldn't mind seeing something like what Hugh Jackson did. He went off on someone whose cellphone went off during a live show.
