Greetings, I am amazed at the belief system I'm developing in ritual acts in my pre-game/pre-shot routine. Everything from the zippered location I store my glove in my bag The way & direction I store my Taylormade bag in my trunk The hat I wear My entire pre-shot routine As well as the pocket I store my tees, divet tool and ball marker in Feels like my old football and baseball days...I just seemed to have fallen into a comfort zone where it seems my thought process is broken when my newly "Monk-like" obsessions aren't satisfied! Lol Sure I'm not alone...but man, I've only been in the game a couple of months. Be well CR

Couple of months and you're a 15 handicap??? Keep up the voodoo, it seems to be working!

I won't play with a nickel in my possession, nickels are bad luck. I mark my ball with red dots because read means under par, and I also won't use yellow tees, yellow is the color of cowardice.

I am not nearly as bad with golf as I was when I played baseball in college, I was a superstitious nutcase.

My entire pre-shot routine ... You want this to be consistent and automatic so you don't have too many swing thoughts buzzing around in your head.

As well as the pocket I store my tees, divet tool and ball marker in ... Having it all in one place helps when you have to sprint onto first tee and hit quickly. Also, quick look at ball pouch prevents you from having to pay $10 a sleeve at the course because you forgot to reach in the desk drawer and replenish your stock between rounds.

Stay thirsty, my friend... and organized!

I don't use pink tees.

I don't use a ball marked with the number 3 - that means 3-putts.

I have a four-leaf clover in my bag & as a bag tag, and I am totally convinced that will bring me luck.

Really don't have superstitions, i do believe in positive thinking. Case here, twice i thought about skulding a wedge, and i did it. When i just think positiviely i do good, so really my supersition is if i think negatviely, then i back off the shot..

I don't really have any superstitions. Pretty much everything I so is either random (the hat I wear), or just the easiest way. Using some of the OP's examples, I keep my clubs back-left to front-right in my trunk because that's the only way it will fit, I keep my golf balls, tees, and ball marker in my right pocket because it's annoying to reach into my left one with my glove on (which, as a righty, I wear on my left hand), etc.

This.

My golf bag is organized so that I know where things are, not because of any superstition.  I mark my ball with a Bahamian penny when it's close to the hole and a Bahamian nickel when it's further from the hole purely out of courtesy to others... the penny is tiny, the nickel is not... and I attribute no luck to either coin.  They are simply different.

I do agree about saevel25's positive thinking though.  I'll take it a step further, I've found that when I root for my playing partners to do well, I tend to play better.

Me too! Positive energy all around! It also sucks playing with someone who is sulking because they're having a bad day so I always hope for my partners to play well - just not as well as me

I mark my ball with a pure gold Boston Bruins mint coin. If I forgot this, I would go crazy. Its been lucky for a long, long time.

I also wont take the headcover off of my driver unless im going to swing it or clean it. If I take it off for no reason, the next hit will be horrible.

I don't have a lot in regards to golf. Hockey though, it was nuts. Wouldn't shave during playoffs. Refused to change my hockey socks before the season was done. One pair, and one pair only.

Shin pads had to be taped up a certain way. Skates had to be laced a certain way, Equipment goes on a certain way. It really is very, very specific.

In the Ogio Kingpin bag:

Titleist 913 D2 9.5* w/ UST Mamiya ATTAS 3 80 w/ Harrison Shotmaker & Billy Bobs afternarket Hosel Adaptor (get this if you don't have it for your 913)
Wilson Staff Ci-11 4-GW (4I is out of the bag for a hybrid, PW and up were replaced by Edel Wedges)
TaylorMade RBZ 5 & 3 Fairway Woods

Cobra Baffler T-Rail 3 & 4 Hybrids

Edel Forged 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64* wedges (different wedges for different courses)

No coins in my pockets at all during the round.  Favorite divot fixer (actually one my father made for me).  Two balls at all time - one in play, one in my pocket.  Never use a broken tee.  But other than that - no real superstitions....

pure gold or 24k?  using a pure gold coin would just be silly, because it would be worth more than your golf bag and clubs.

My superstitions...

i grab a handful of tees (three different colors, green, orange and white) and out them in my pocket.  the first color tee i pick out of my pocket is the color i use for all of my drives.

i use a pink tee when teeing off of all par 3's

i flip my ball marker coin and place it exactly the side and direction it landed in my hand, on the green for putting.

no change or wallet in my pockets.
