Favorites:

Dustin Johnson - Great athlete and he can crush a golf ball. Rarely has a terrible round and puts up solid numbers almost every weekend. Very laid back and really enjoys golf and doesn't take being on the PGA for granted. Also, he's a guy!!

Tiger Woods - I love how he can picture a shot in his head and execute it so often. I feel like he, more so than 99% of the other PGA players, sees his shot before he makes it and the ball goes exactly where he wanted it to as if there's a tunnel he's hitting thru. Shows his frustration and knows that he has no one else to blame and he even gets pissed when he misses the left side of the fairway and ends up 20 yards 'too' far to the right. Incredible what this guy can do with a golf ball.

Jason Dufner - Dude just has swag written all over him. Smoothest swing in golf.

Dislike:

Gainey - 2 gloves make him look stupid

Phil - Don't like his vibe, never have. Really not sure why

Sabbatini - same as phil

Couples, Goosen. Super cool. How could one not like watching these guys??

I can't say that I hate anyone, that's pretty harsh. They are all doing something I only dream about. That being said its sooooo hard watching Bubba play golf. The swing, the bend to the shots, the look of uncertainty on his face everytime he takes a shot.

I will base my likes and dislikes on their golf game and on-course demeanor, not their personalities, because I don't know any of them:

Favorites:

Phil Mickelson - nice to the fans, not a crybaby after a bad shot or round. Stood up for his teamate Hunter Mahan.

Freddy Couples - nice guy, takes bad medicine like a man.

Ricky Fowler - good kid, not a whiner, good in the clutch.

Least Favorites:

Tiger Woods - too intense, one day his head will explode after a bad shot.

Spencer Levin - the guy plays like he is on crack, too herky jerky for me, I get jumpy watching him.

Luke Donald/Lee Westwood - good games, nice guys, no heart (I doubt either one will ever win a major).

I'm down to a 10 handicap. At this rate, I'll get to scratch at 90 years old!

Manassero = awesome swing and he's Italian. Even cooler

Tiger = Legend, amazing game.

Fowler = Guy has swag and gets up and hits it. Amazing swing.

Least favorite.

Tim Clark's swing makes me cringe.

Bubba looks retarded with his buttoned up buttons.

I hate the little twirl Simpson does at the end of his swing when he drives the ball. Amazing golfer but thats about the only thing I dislike about him.

I can't really think of any i dislike.

In terms of whose personality i admire the most, for me Grahame McDowell is up there.  He always seems to come across well.

I tend to root for the English and Irish guys - Westwood (love his long game), Donald (love his short game!), and McIlroy (just awesome).  Though for a while Retief Goosen was my favourite player and i still like him.  Woods is exciting to watch, a living legend, even if he is a bit rude and petulant.

To narrow it to 3:  Westwood, Donald, McIlroy.

I don't really 'root' for or against any golfer but there are some that are more fun than others to watch.

Tiger, Rory and Phil are probably my favorites to watch.  Obviously, because they are great and exciting players.  Those are the top 3 but there are more.

I find John Daly to be an idiot.  Ian Poulter and Sabbatini probably round out my top 3 but there are more as well.

Favs

Dufner - really enjoy watching him, seems calm and loose - think he is going to be a stud in Ryder Cup - have to think a major is in his near future.

Tiger - taken the game to levels it never considered

Phil - Because 2nd place sucks and he will always go for the win

Least

Sergio - I don't like anything about him, he whines, complains, grips the club 47 times...whatever - he strikes me as a typical spoiled kid...

Donald - the most over rated player in my opinion. You shouldn't be #1 by winning Isle of Mann open, or whatever garbage tourny in March he has been winning. i understand he is a good golfer but but if you can't win or contend in majors and the big events you are not #1. I am tired of hearing about him, the only people who consider him #1 is the media, there is no way the players do...he is this generations Cory Pavin....wait no he hasn't won a major yet so he isn't that good.

Daly - for a waste of talent - he could have been so good...he has won 2 majors and still wasted his best years, it is a shame

Honorable mention - Ian Poulter - time to come out of the closet.

Driver- Callaway Razor somthing or other

It's not Luke Donald's fault he is (was) #1 without winning a major.  Hate the ranking system, don't hate the player.

Surprised at all the folks who dislike Keegan Bradley. After reading up on him, where he came from, and who he is today - I like him. Seems like a totally affable dude.

I think the story was a bit embellished but he does seem like a good guy.  The problem I have and I think most people have is with his pre-shot routine.  He lines up the ball from behind and then goes through a series of start - stops and sometimes goes through a whole routine a few times per shot.  It gets very annoying when you're watching him as part of a featured group like I did during the PGA Championship.

It is his twitchiness that makes me dislike him.  And that is dislike as a golfer and as someone to watch. I don't know him so I have no opinion on him as a person.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

I agree.  I would say that I like him, but that I can't stand watching him.  It makes me feel uncomfortable.

Likes :

- Ernie Els:  I've got a photo I took of him at the 2004 PGA signing autographs for some kids and his smile states far better than any words I can put together what a genuinely nice guy he is.

- Steve Stricker:  local guy, just as nice as Els, he deserves to win a major soon.

- Paula Creamer:  she used her distinctive pink Bridgestones on the range at Blackwolf Run last month and requested that when they collect the balls, that her pink ones be separated out and given to kids as souvenirs.  My daughter got one - what a great souvenir.  She's also active with the First Tee and other non-profits.

Honorable mentions:

- Tiger - he's just too exciting to watch when his game is on, too important to the game of golf and he's done more for youth golf than anyone in history, letting me forget his temper, wooden interviews, arrogance, rather inappropriate porn star addiction for a married guy, creepy mass-murderer-like fascination with the Navy Seals, etc....

- Lizette Salas - watched a very tired, very drained Lizette, after a very hard final day at this year's US Women's Open (she shot an 80), patiently and with a nice smile, sign autographs for dozens of kids, talking with them and waiting around until every kid who wanted one got her autograph, even though she clearly wanted to be someplace cool and away from a golf course.  Super nice person.

- Jesper Parnevik (see below)

- David Feherty - OK, I have no idea if I ever even saw him play on any televised broadcast, but he is one of the most genuinely and spontanously funny people ever.  He MC'ed a show at the 2004 PGA practice range in which he made fun of practically every golfer you can imagine and it was hilarious, funnier than any stand up comedy act I've seen in person.

Dislikes :

- Vijay Singh:  At 2004 PGA in a practice round, he refused to sign a single autograph while his playing partner, Jesper Parnevik, was happy to comply with anyone's request and the difference between them was astonishing, one a genuinely nice guy (and an honorable mention on the likes list), the other a very self-absorbed person.  Now that self-absorbtion paid off in spades for him in terms of his concentration that week, but we followed this group for around half their round and you could just see from his expression and body language that Vijay was an unpleasant person.

- Phancy Phil Mickelson.  His whiny voice, bad, non-athletic posture, arrogance, gambling addiction (dude gambles more a year than most of the people here earn a year), dandy-ish clothes just turn me off, notwithstanding his sometimes brilliance as a player.

- Gary McCord.  If he swung a club as hard as he tries to force out humor and be funny, the head would fly off the club.  Kudos to Augusta National for banning him, not for his humor being tastelessly inappropriate (lame bit of censorship) but for lacking in humor at all.

In my bag: - Ping G20 driver, 10.5 deg. S flex - Ping G20 3W, 15 deg., S flex - Nickent 4dx 3H, 4H - Nike Slingshot 4-PW - Adams Tom Watson 52 deg. GW - Vokey 58 deg. SW -Ping Half Wack-E putter

There are alot of golfers I love to watch. But if I had to narrow it down I would go with:

1: John Daly- Always have been a big fan of John's. Such an honest and down to earth guy. I met him many years ago at Vince Gill's charity tournament and was the nicest guy. He signed every autograph that was asked of him.

2: Rory- this kid is so dominant. It good to hear the media talk about someone other than Tiger

3: Dustin- Just waiting on him to get it together.

Dislike:

1: Vijay: just seems like a d!ck

2: Lanny Wadkins- He was at the same tournament that I met John Daly. He was the biggest @$$! Refused to sign autographs, did not even give the fans the time of day. He was so blatant about it, that he drove a cart to avoid everyone. Lanny actually parked the golf right next to each green, just to avoid the fans.

3: Tiger: you can't argue with his talent or his records. It's the media who made me not like him. Even when he is not in contention, its "Tiger this and Tiger that". But to be honest, ever since his demise a couple of years ago, he seems to have came back to reality and seems to realize he isn't the same guy he was a few years earlier.

Phillip

Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
