Obviously, if Stenson play well today, the tournament and FEC are his, but there are still some other FEC possibilities-

Stricker or Zach Johnson wins the tournament and the Cup

Justin Rose wins the Tournament and takes the Cup if Stenson falls to 3rd or worse

DJ, Horschel or Luke Donald goes low to take the TC with Stenson taking the Cup if he deosn't blow up

Stenson blows up, DJ wins the TC and Tiger moves up to take the Cup

Stenson blows up and and someone like Spieth, Phil, Watney or Adam Scott goes really low to take the TC and the Cup

Differences in the eligibility criteria for the awards have resulted in different players winning the awards on six occasions. In 1988, 1993, and 1995, Greg Norman won the Byron Nelson Award but not the Vardon Trophy because he failed to meet the 60 round minimum for the Vardon Trophy (52, 54, and 58 rounds, respectively). [5] This also happened to Tiger Woods in 2006 (55 rounds). [4] [5] In 1989, Payne Stewart failed to qualify for the Vardon Trophy because of his mid-round withdrawal from the AT&T; Pebble Beach National Pro-Am . [6] In 1987, Dan Pohl won the Vardon Trophy even though David Frost and Paul Azinger both had lower averages; [5] Frost and Azinger were not PGA of America members, a requirement for eligibility that was dropped after the 1987 season. [7] The minimum rounds required also dropped from 80 to 60 at that time.

Woods had 57 rounds, so he'll get to 61. Stricker only has 47 rounds (so 51).

I think Tiger wins.

Vardon Trophy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Vardon Trophy is awarded by the PGA of America to the PGA Tour 's leader in scoring average. [1] When the award was first given in 1937, it was awarded on the basis of a points system. No award was given from 1942–1946 due to World War II . In 1947, the PGA began awarding it for low scoring average. In 1988, the trophy began going to the golfer with the lowest adjusted scoring average over a minimum of 60 rounds, with no mid-round withdrawals (instituted in 1988 [2] ). The trophy is named for the Jersey golfing great Harry Vardon .

The PGA Tour presents its own Byron Nelson Award annually to the player with the lowest adjusted scoring average for the year. It has a 50-round minimum, and was instituted in 1980. [3]

Now the question is who takes the Nelson scoring title awarded by the PGA Tour which has a 50 round minimum. Β 1 of Tiger's 57 rounds was match play while 4 of Stricker's were

Obviously, if Stenson plays well today, the tournament and FEC are his,

He's from Gothenburg, Sweden, and he's having a lengthy and successful career...

...which sort of makes him the Volvo 240 of golf, I suppose...

That's TMAG's new concept. Make a driver that convinces you to hit 4-wood off of every tee and keep it in play.

Recommend this interview with Stenson, from a couple of years ago. He's a cool cat and I'm happy he's back on top.

I thought Nike and Tiger have had that concept down cold for years... but TM is catching up.

Get in there Stenson!

Somehow managed to get Stenson to win @ 22/1.. just threw a Β£10 on that.. easiest Β£210 ever made! Although admittedly it was very tense towards the end

It's the Diablo Octane Tour 13*. I have the 15* and have not been able to beat it with anything else I have tried. It just goes against all the hype of the OEMs that a guy can play golf with a 3 year old model. It's not "retro" it's a 2010, and the new one won't beat it by 17 yards!

Congrats to Stenson for a great win.

He bears an uncanny resemblance to a famous ping pong player, Karl Wolfschtagg. Β I wonder if they are related.

Did Stenson even hit his driver? lol

He SLDR'ed it into his bag at the beginning of the round and SLDR'ed it out of his bag at the end, but it was not SLDR'ed out during the round.

Why do they call golf "golf"?Β  Because all the other four letter words were taken.
