The Retirement Plan was a decent romp.

I didn't expect much, so I give it a par. I could have done without the Washington bureaucrats (the black woman and the skinny white dude) and whatever tie-ins they had (I'm about eight minutes from the end of the movie, so maybe that'll wrap itself up too)… and the villain was a bit stereotypical, but whatever. Like I said, I wasn't expecting much.

Roleplay, a film in which Kaley Cuoco plays an assassin trying to live a normal life, which catches up to her when she's forced to kill another assassin: bogey.

It was fine to pass the time, and the action sequences were decent. But the story was thin and the ending was… blah.

The Beekeeper-birdie for me.

If you like John Wick and The Equalizer, highly recommend. 90-ish minutes of Jason Statham kicking butt.

Immediate Family- Documentary about session musicians who played on everybody’s albums back in the 70s. Birdie. It is amazing how many songs and albums that I grew up loving these guys played on.

I'll have to watch this, a follow-up to The Wrecking Crew, which is another great documentary on Session Musicians from that era.  Carol Kaye, one of the best bass players you've never heard of.

Gran Turismo, par. Honestly way better than I thought it would be, but worth the time to watch it the one time. A few storylines could have been fleshed out more, like choosing him over Matty (when he beat Matty but the other guy had a fair point)… etc.

Based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, the film is the ultimate wish fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional...

Hmm, audience score is 98% at RT. Interesting. I would have given it a birdie, but everything was pretty predictable. I did like that they went into the crash a bit, and… the ramifications of that.

I saw Dune: Part 2 this past weekend. I will give it an eagle. I like it better than Part 1. Mostly because it didn't have to set up the world, so it could really focus on character arcs and the plot going into what looks to be Part 3 (Dune Messiah). I was able to pick up most of the parts that were different than the book. I understand the why they did so, mostly because of how long the movie would have stretched out to be (already 2 hours and 45 minutes), and other issues, like Paul's yet to be born sister being mentally mature at birth. Yea, good luck finding an actress to do that. Making a CG character would probably throw off the look of the movie since much of it limited in CG. The actor for Baron Harkonnen has to put on a giant suit, but most other movies would probably use CG to do that. So, I didn't mind the changes to transfer the book to the movie. I know some purists will hate it. If you want a 100% accurate recreation of this book, you will need like 4 movies. Nothing changed or taken out takes away from the overall story, which is Paul's character arc.

I am interested on how close Dune Part 3 will be to the books. There are some character arcs that are different than from the original book. Leaving out Jamis's family. Channi's arc is going to be different and should lead to a much different arc in the 3rd movie. I wonder if they will try to push the Children of Dune story. Which, if they get to God Emperor of Dune, I might just check out there. I can't get through the audio book; it is a slog.

Yea, I enjoyed it a lot. The only complaint I do have, and maybe it is because of modern culture being more fast paced with everything, the pacing was maybe a tad slow in like two spots. Not terrible, just slightly noticeable. It is a nitpick really. Besides that, loved the movie.

Edit: I remembered one more thing. I wish we got more scenes building up the emperor (Christopher Walkin), in the movie. Not sure how many scenes he shot, but he didn't feel that imposing of a figure. In the books, you knew he was a powerful person and prideful. Again, the movie is nearing 3 hours long. Not sure what they could have cut and what they could have added.

I watched "Dumb Money" and give it a par. I like movies like this, which cover real events in an entertaining way. It reminded me of The Big Short without the interludes where they explained things.

84% and 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.

I liked the original but this trailer does not seem to offer humor.  It looks more like a trailer for a horror flick. Even his facial expression says horror flick,

still, I’m likely to see the when it comes out.

Argylle, par. Some decent action sequences (didn't like Bryce Dallas Howard in an action role at all), with some good plot twists. But it was good overall.

I won't give away the stuff at the end. It ties into some similar things.

I rewatched this last night on HBO Max, and I re-affirm this. I loved Dune Par 1. It finally brought Dune to the big screen in the best way possible. Dune Part 2 is so much better, which is impressive. I like the direction they went with the characters in the story compared to the books. It was brought up to date in a good way. Yea, I am glad to see that they are working on Dune Part 3.

    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
    • I have access to far more data (including surveys and polls) than you do with your anecdotes. I mean this as plainly and literally as possible: you’ve demonstrated that you do not. They would, one way or the other.
    • Yes, but you don't live in the UK, so you have no idea what we think about it here. It's a very different mindset here, to demonstrate the fact you should consider 9 out of 10 games we play here are Stableford, whereas you you almost solely play medal. Neither is right or wrong, it's just different  I'm trying to avoid swearing here. Once again, and for the 1000th time, I understand the system, I just don't agree with it. Is there anything wrong with that? PS, I do not have the time or patience to post my results, especially as they prove nothing  That's because 99% of the posters are Yanks
