I don't see them lasting past the first injury lawsuit. ;-)

I'm sure carts have had lawsuits.  But I agree it would certainly hurt the product.

I saw these in action in Florida.  We made give them a try next year.

The course I play at just started renting out Golf Boards.  This is the first time I've seen these.  From what I've heard they are popular in Florida.  Has anyone rode one of these during their round?  What are your thoughts?

Yes, yes I would!

And, given the first chance to do so, I did!

They look fun. I love riding Segways so naturally I would probably love these.

There's a course near me that got them in and you can rent them for your round. I can't for the life of me remember where it was, though. @SavvySwede, do you know?

Edit: I looked it up, it's Cranbury Golf Club. Royce Brook has them too, and Crystal Springs.

Cranbury Golf Club. Fun little course with six par 3's, but slow play on the weekends keeps me from going there with any regularity.

Yea I played there once, teed off about an hour after my scheduled time. I only remember the place because I managed to shoot even par over six holes some stretch on the back 9.

I will probably get back there sometime and play if I can get on the Golfboard though.

Went to Cranbury Golf Club with @SavvySwede today and rode the GolfBoard. It was harder to turn than I thought it was going to be and was a bit of a pain to navigate tight turns and look for your golf ball. The novelty of it wore off after a while and it just ended up adding an additional logistcal consideration I wouldn't have otherwise had to deal with if I had walked.

Oh and there might have been some golf, too, or whatever you call that thing where you hit a little ball and spend the next 5 minutes looking for it.

Yeah, riding the Golfboard was more difficult with a bag bouncing around and avoiding obstacles than driving around a flat tee box at the PGA Show. This particular course wasn't well suited to the Golfboard because of hairpin turns by the tee box cart paths and a quite a few ditches and tree roots to avoid. A cool experience but the extra $10 on top of the regular cart fee isn't justifiable for me.

Sounds like the non-ideal course was to blame. I'd pay the extra $10 every time on courses at least reasonably well suited for it (there were a few non-ideal spots at True Blue too).

I'm a one-time skateboard user, being not very coordinated I guess it would be once with this too! ;-)

Golf kept me close to my father during the four years in the 1960's that I worked for him on weekends as his caddy. I didn't play then, but later did start playing once he insisted "it was time". It's been a joy ever since.

I might still walk instead of using this, but it definitely seems better than riding in a cart.  Better for pace of play (since everyone has their own, and it can presumably be used off the cart paths in wetter conditions than a normal cart), and better for wear-and-tear.
