Well that's not fair. If a cat vanishes after someone talks to it, you get like four squares. Five if you count that as supernatural.

I know I have the new Grisham novel rogue lawyer for a present coming up.  Right now I am    re reading "god is not great" by Christopher Hitchens which I highly recommend.  Better than the God dilemma by Richard Dawkins. I will later re read George Knudson and the natural swing.  I finished recently a Steve Berry  Cotton Malone novel which was decent.

SyFy's The Expanse is such a good show, started reading Leviathan Wakes and have Caliban's War and Abbadon's Gate and the rest lined up. The execution is very similar to A Song of Ice and Fire although none of the repetitive stuff like descriptions of boiled leather outfits.

Broke down and started reading Stephen King's 11/22/63. Time travel, revisionist history I'm guessing, hard to turn down.  Dunno what you call both watching on tv and reading a fictional work, but now doing so for two works.

I've got a few pages left of Tim O'Brien's "The Things They Carried." I'd previously read his "In the Lake of the Woods," which is one of the very few books I've ever re-read. But this was the first time I've read TTTC. Really liking it. His style just reads so easily.

I'm also a few chapters into Shea Serrano's (formerly of Grantland, RIP) "The Rap Yearbook," which is a fun read.

I wish I read more. I've got a few huge piles of books on one of my end tables. Maybe someday.

I thought that was one of his best books, and I have read quite a few of them.

Just re-read The Green Mile and Full Dark no Stars. Both by King.

Reading Mindset by Carol Dweck. I'm really enjoying it. The book deals with fixed vs growth mindsets, and is pertinent to sports, coaching, teaching, leadership, business and especially raising your kids.

Reread Story of Your Life, Ted Chiang, looks like they're going to expand the scope in the movie. Really looking forward to the movie.

I have been reading the "Richard Sharpe" series by Bernard Cornwell.  Fun reading and I have also learned a little about Napoleon's peninsular war.

Just finished "The Only Rule is it Has to Work," a book by/about two stat heads running an independent league baseball team for a season. Finished it in a day. One of my favorite sports books ever. Awesome read.

Now currently reading a few things. I'm about halfway through "The Bourne Identity" by Robert Ludlum. Always loved the movies but never read the book. The book is ... interesting. I'm 50 pages or so into "The Smartest Guys in the Room" about the Enron crash. And I'm about to start "The Arm" by Jeff Passan about Tommy John surgeries and other arm injuries in baseball.

I like how the movie left out one of the main characters in the book, Carlos.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
