Yeah, we could only afford to ship them to Canada and the U.S.

I'm considering an experiment. Please let me know what you think.

I'll let Cary out of the Penalty Box. Right now.

If he manages to post some detailed information (with pictures acting only as supporting evidence, not as the content itself) that can be discussed and which answers the questions posed to him about his "method" and/or which discusses his "method," I'll move the "Googlebombing" posts (starting with #162 through one a few posts prior to this post) to a private forum (where search engines can't find them) and the thread can remain unlocked and open for discussion.

If he fails to do that, within his first two posts again in this thread, this thread will remain open until such time as I lock it permanently.

Do you think that's fair @MiniBlueDragon? Others?

Maybe a bit too fair, but it is worth a shot.  If even only to prove a point to @MiniBlueDragon , a respected member.

Like newtoglolf, I dont expect his (Cary's) attitude to change.

I think his Penalty Box was deserved, that's not in question at all (and I think staying in there is the right course of action); it was the resulting amount of mockery from everybody culminating in a plan to get his named blackened even more I found a bit odd that's all.

@mvmac I agree the site ranks phenomenally already so there was no need for people to come up with ways to rank the thread even higher.

Sounds good to me, it gives Cary Schoen ( @ZeroComp ) another opportunity to prove that we were right about him from the get go.

I think that topic was raised as a "universal benefit to the internet" type thing.  In other words, if/when he goes somewhere else, peddling his goods/services, some skeptical potential customer or patron can search and find an immediate and relevant answer to the query, "does this guy have any credibility?"

Cary I'll again remind you with the bold text:

I'll let Cary out of the Penalty Box. Right now.

If he manages to post some detailed information (with pictures acting only as supporting evidence, not as the content itself) that can be discussed and which answers the questions posed to him about his "method" and/or which discusses his "method," I'll move the "Googlebombing" posts (starting with #162 through one a few posts prior to this post) to a private forum (where search engines can't find them) and the thread can remain unlocked and open for discussion.

If he fails to do that, within his first two posts again in this thread, this thread will remain open until such time as I lock it permanently and he'll be permanently banned.

You've now wasted one of your first two posts. Here. I'll even help you out:

From what I can gather, Cary Schoen believes that:

  • Your trail foot should stay down a long time.
  • You don't need to send your hips forward much.
  • As such, you don't generate much secondary axis tilt.
  • You remain in forward flexion well into the follow-through.
  • Your hands and the handle of the club exit low and left.

Please explain each of these things, particularly the hips pieces since your rocks demonstrate a hip girdle that's moving forward quite a bit.

Sirs,

The following is an example of:

- A Lower body that does not thrust in a manner that costs him the ability to maintain his forward tilt until after the ball is hit.

- A Lower body that does not thrust in a manner that forces his swing plane to raise vertically and unintendedly send the baseline out to the right

Iacas, if this is not offering my thoughts in an informational context, I guess I deserve another timeout

Those simply say the same things that video shows (or is supposed to show). It does not say anything about WHY you prefer those things, WHAT makes those things better, HOW current pros are telling "lies" about current methods, etc.

No, you've been permanently banned. I was very clear, VERY forgiving, and you've failed to provide actual information that can be discussed.

Goodbye Cary Schoen.

Just my opinion but that swing looks like it can cause a lot of injuries.

I'll also point out that if he is a 9, then clearly it is NOT the best swing in the world.

Agree, retaining too much forward flexion is a bad thing.

Compared to Hogan, which we assume he's trying to model, you can see how much more "thrust" Hogan puts in.  Note the secondary axis tilt due to the lower center being forward with the head steady on the right and the belt buckle is pointing towards the sky.  Hogan is releasing his forward flexion.

Isn't this pretty much a perfect example of what a lot of amateurs get wrong in the swing? Too much upper body, OTT, and path way left? I'm not the best at judging these things, but it doesn't look like a very powerful swing.

Also, if you slice, wouldn't sending the "baseline out to the right" actually help straighten it out?

Not that it matters much now, but I'm probably more confused about Cary Schoen's swing theories now, more than ever. He started by saying the majority of golfers don't utilize the pivot properly, and he finished by showing a model that doesn't do much pivoting?

I can't speak for others, but if this were my swing, I'd get back problems and seriously limit my playing "career" years. Nuh-uh. No way I want this.

My reaction?

You can just make out the word "Troll" on both searches.

Seriously, though. I hope we didn't ruin his potential career. Seems like when he gets better, he could be a pretty good instructor with all that tournament experience.

    • Day 521 - 2026-03-06 Got some good work in for 15 minutes or so with someone overseeing. Downswing work.
    • Day 201 3-6 Wider backswing trying to blend it all together for a full swing. Not looking good yet.
    • Day 74 - 2026-03-06 Backswing work out back at the net. Slow.
    • Day 101: did a stack session. Worked on hands down in the mirror during breaks.
    • Got told off yesterday for doing full swings and full speed swings so went to the range this lunchtime and did some slow speed stuff and freezers. A few videos from my session.    First few are DTL then some FO This one is of me looking at the club on the way back. I think I get my arms lifting all the way back, not that you’d know because YouTube keeps glitching on me.    Second one is two slow backswings. This glitches the first one but the glitch looks like a pretty good position so I’ll live. Second one works. Then another swing back and hit. When I’m not watching or really focusing on it it seems that my upper arm doesn’t lift at first, rather stays roughly where it is and I add the lift at the end so the club comes a bit more inside. I think that’s what I’m going to focus on. This one glitches a bit too but it’s really just pausing. This shows the club coming a bit more inside but not as laid off at the top Then a couple of face on ones And lastly one smoothie and one freezer at normal speed  Quite happy with how this went. I can see my arms are better when I take it slower. Also while I’m still pitching my arms out it doesn’t seem to be as extreme as yesterday. Light at the end of the tunnel 🙂
