A guy was teeing off just ahead of my wife and I last summer that was fully decked out like Payne Stewart from the shoes to the knickers to the cap. Even had a little matching towel folded in his belt. Probably not that uncommon attire elsewhere but something you don't see around here.

My wife half-jokingly said "you need an outfit like that." I told her the only way I would wear that outfit is if I was really, really good, or a moron, and I'm neither.

In the same category my daughter in law got my wife and I matching golf shirts for Christmas a few years ago that would have been very nice except that embroidered on my shirt was "Number One Golfer" and on my wife's shirt was "Number One Golfer's Sidekick". Not a chance in the world I'm going to ever wear that shirt.

My theory is that if you suck the last thing you want is to draw more attention by the clothes you wear. If you are the best you can wear whatever the hell you want.

I find wearing my Viking helmet with a shotgun strapped to my back intimidates people, especially in the grocery store!

If you really want some extra fear factor you can copy Blackbeard too! Wrap a couple fuses into your beard and set them alight before you start your round. Alternatively, you may have to use a fake Santa beard if you don't have one or burnt yours off previously.

I've found white is a nice color for the final round.. still like the dark yellow idea though. Maybe even a green.

Just found out midnight blue. I think that's my new final round color!

Seriously, how does a "color" of ones clothes intimidate anyone..? Sorry I find this to be really funny..

Colors have a lot of influence without people even knowing. Red shows power and strength.. blue shows calm, etc.. you don't even know it, but your mind does. That's why if you apply for a job interview and throw in a splash of red, it just makes you look more confident. Also why you should wear blue button up shirts to interviews, because it makes you look professional, calm and collected.

Maybe for you and others. The color of someones clothing means NADA to me. And btw, this is nothing new, guys in sales use to dress to impress...lol

Tiger wears red because it means something IN HIS MOM'S CULTURE. To someone from China it might mean government oppression, perhaps. It might remind someone else of their new car, or their wife. Tiger wears red because he thinks it helps HIM, not because he thinks it's going to affect anyone else.

I've always found the color "Fuchsia" to be pretty darn scary!!!!

Or any other bright pastel color, you could try those.

Green. Offer your playing partners a friendly wager of $100 per hole on the first tee box, that may intimidate them a bit. Be prepared to back it up though.

Aside from that, no piece of clothing, regardless of color, is going to intimidate your opponents. Stick your first iron shot from 160 out to within 5 feet, or reach a long par 5 in two early in the round and you may be onto something. That makes you appear to be confident and calm, much moreso than what color shirt you're wearing. This isn't Tiger Woods 2014 on playstation where you get +3 power for buying the right polo.
