Only ten players at or better than par?   Lots of plus 9 scores and higher.  Did something happen to the course, like  6 inches of rain?   Maybe lots of divots in the fairway  and footprints in the waste from last week are hampering the ladies.

The women said that divots were not an issue. In watching the coverage yesterday some were really struggling after missing the greens with their approaches. One commentator said they can't apply enough spin to their chips to hold the firm greens. I saw Cristy Kerr try to pitch a ball onto the green, land a few feet short and have the ball run back down to her feet.

LOL ... for some reason seeing her entire name threw me.  I'm like "Who the heck is Sadena Parks?"

And then, I'm like,   Duh!!!  Sadena!!!

Good for her.

Sadena is close to the cut line, and she still has 13 holes to play. Top 60 and ties and that's looking like +8 or possibly +9, if enough slide back.

Sadena is at +6 for the tournament after just 5 holes today, so she needs to play the remaining as well or better than she has played so far.

I'd like to see Michelle Wie get a Major and silence the critics.

Ditto, that would be great.  We probably just jinxed her though.

Hope I don't jinx this, but let's hope for Michelle/Lexi final pairing. Right now, it's Michelle #1, Lexi T2 (but she has most of the back 9 to finish).

Im so impressed with an 11 year old shooting 78/78.  It would have been great to see her make the cut but 2 solid rounds are very cool.  I hope she keep playing well and we see her in the future.

I was extremely impressed with some of her 2nd shot fairway woods from 200+ yards out. I love her, I think she's adorable.

I haven't enjoyed watching a round as much as I did today in some time. Little Lucy is a cutie, so fun. On another note, I noticed today for some reason, more than last week what a goat ranch that course is. I'd say over half the courses I play in DFW are nicer layouts and better maintained. I have no desire to play it. And to echo someone earlier, much more interested in this event than last week's. Hope Michelle can bring it home.

Did you see all the fans there? Geeezus, there's like 3 people watching, and 2 of them are volunteers. LOL

Someone needs to tell Lucy to back off on the sunscreen caked all over her face.

I don't know who that someone should be, but I do know who it won't be:

The dermatologists that are all too busy removing moles and cancer cells from those of us dumbos who DON'T slather ourselves in sunscreen every time we go bake in the sun for 6 hours at a time.

Lol, yeah she's got a lot on... I think it's a cultural thing to make sure the face doesn't get too tanned...

Yah I remember that a few days ago, I think. I was too lazy to look it up. Good call!

I saw a funny goof by ESPN.  I haven't really been watching (too wrapped up in the World Cup) but at one point ESPN showed the scorecard for one of the players and their graphic added up the pars for the back nine wrong.  They showed the back 9 as a par 34. Even though they had all of the individual hole pars correct (a 5, 2 3s and 6 4s) and they should have added up to 35 they had 34 as the par for the back nine,

Lucky for them that if we treat them the same as players are treated there is no penalty since they are only responsible for the individual hole scores, not adding them up.  LOL

But then again, what the hell do I know?

The kabuki/princess leia look is weird. Throw in the ice cream cone and you have the makings of an asian fellini movie.

Now that's a weird combo... Regardless, she looked like she had a good time and didn't let the pressure get to her.

Great swing too, I haven't gotten a chance to watch a lot of it but thought it was fun seeing her play. Kinda funny/cute too with how much smaller she is than everyone else. Hope she takes it as a learning experience, gets back to playing junior/amateur tournaments and doesn't try to get on the Michele Wie program of trying to compete too far beyond her abilities.

    • Ooh, I don't know about that. I've hit flop shots that are 6-7° down. The more you widen the spin loft the less ball speed you put into the ball.
    • Re: your graphic, ‘ I expected a little more from a varsity letterman.’ Lol…just another one for @boogielicious
    • Can't brag about a 50 last night but it was the best round of my season (4 rounds of 9 holes) so I am not as upset as I could be.  One thing I am noticed is that I got a little more confident in my long hybrids and I attempted a couple longer shots that typically I would just lay up and those holes were a big part of the lower score.  Not every shot was great but good enough that they helped.  I even shot par on a Par 5 after taking a drop.  On that hole I would usually lay-up to @ 100 yards and often miss the green altogether with my 3rd shot (or worse chunk my approach and put it in the waste area).  Yesterday I went for it from @ 200 yards out with wind in my face and landed in the waste area short of the green.  My drop left @ 40 yards in and I stuck it to 3 feet for my par putt.  If I had laid up I would have avoided the penalty stroke but likely would not have been on the green in regulation and may still have been working for par.  By going for it I gave myself a chance at birdie and still saved par. I do not plan on being crazy aggressive but I think I tend to be too conservative at times so I will "go for it" a little more often going forward.
    • Day 14 (15 May 24) - Worked with the SW in the backyard, short pitches from 10yds up to 30yds.   Focused on ball placement in stance - ball back, ball forward, ball center.  Afterwards moved to inside the shop to work on putting pace on the rug - putting one way gives about an 8' putt, going the other a 6' before bumping onto the adjacent rug.  Focused there on the line - picking a target point about 18"-24" out and making sure the ball rolls through that point.
