FWIW, I'm picking Jessica Korda, E.

And she finished worse than the 11-year-old today. Wonderful.

Lewis

Wie

Creamer

:-D

Any of them could win and I'd be pleased as punch.

Disappointed slightly by Pettersen's play.

Ko needs to find a steady caddie.

Id love to see Wie win. I think if Wie Lewis and Creamer are all in contention on Sunday I think the ratings will be good which is great for the LPGA.

Only ten players at or better than par?   Lots of plus 9 scores and higher.  Did something happen to the course, like  6 inches of rain?   Maybe lots of divots in the fairway  and footprints in the waste from last week are hampering the ladies.

Why is Wie wearing the elastic therapeutic tape on her leg? I wonder if the men use them but we can't see. Her caddie or someones caddie was using it too.

It's a big boy course. The men struggled as well. The ladies are having trouble holding the ball on the edges of the greens.

They're designed to pull the skin away from the muscle so that blood can flow better.

Michelle nearly made the cut against the men.

One minor detail (it doesn't change the point you're making): Michelle Wie did make one cut against the men: a T-35 at the 2006 SK Telecom Open.

I thought Ko was using Fluff (Jim Furyk's caddy) since he would have a better sense of the course having been there just last weekend. Being a caddie would be pretty nice now that I think about it. I imagine it would let you lie a bit vicariously through your player, and hauling the bag wouldn't be bad if they let you use a double shoulder strap instead of just the single strap. You get to see all the nice courses, watch some of the world's best, and are rewarded if you do well and your player wins. Could be not so fun if your player missed a lot of cuts though and your paycheck suffered as a result.

She is, but they said she has a different caddie every week.

In that case, she really should find someone she likes. I'd go bonkers taking critical course advice from a different person in every tournament I played in.

Michelle finished birdie-birdie on the 8th/9th hole today to get to -4 (here's her card http://www.lpgascoring.com/public/Scorecard.aspx?TournamentID=27975&PlayerID;=88106 ). Looking solid!

Michelle has studied the course this week (with thanks to friend Ricky Fowler and Keegan Bradley) according to this story--> http://www.golfchannel.com/news/golf-central-blog/wie-studies-her-way-first-round-68/

Could be her week if she knows the course better than her competitors and she's in her groove.

    • Bryson got hit with a 2 shot penalty, after the round, for improving his lie on hole 5.  Here is a post on X, showing how he stepped on high grass when he was looking down his target line.  When they cut to the side shot, you can see how close he was behind the ball.  I think the R&A probably made the correct decision. You just have to be really careful when you are walking in the high grass, around the ball and where you are to make a swing.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
