Yeah, you don't wanna be hearing cracking crunchy crackling noises from your back while you play. Ouch.

Not true, because that's where I store my Rice Krispies while I'm swinging.

If I'm not hearing that anymore, it means they've gotten soggy and gross.

He's an absolute genius.  By withdrawing last week, he's set expectations extremely low for this week.  If he plays poorly, he's a tough guy who just won't let himself heal.  If he plays well, he's miraculously played through pain and injury as no one else can.

A real win win for him.......and we still haven't seen any indication that he was actually injured last week, unless you count his miserable play.

Absolute genius.

Haha, I really don't think you believe this. You seem too reasonable to think he'll play such a card...

It will never fail. Like Eddie Murphy in Trading Places.."I CAN WALK!" ;)

Wow....went home for lunch and saw how TGC cut off Tom Watson's presser to show TW drive in and go practice. Surprised to see him drive himself and put on his golf shoes in the parking lot. I was like...."hey, we all do that". Meh...hope he plays well.

Just showed his full practice round highlights on TGC. Doesn't look any different than he did last week. Missing fairways...irons were hit or miss. Not bad but not great. But he looked healthy and should be a go.

He'll probably take a lot of anti-inflammatories and maybe even some cortizone shots and that should keep him in good shape. I thought I heard somewhere where he didn't take any Saturday or Sunday pre-round.

Is it just me or does Tiger really dip his head with his driver swings? I dont think I notice it much on any player but him. Head dipping is never a good thing.

Rory, Bubba, DJ, to name a few. Why is it necessarily a bad thing? And don't just say it's what the golf magazines say....

He's dipping his shoulder more and seems to be scooping his drives more than driving down with force, but that's likely to protect the back.

I doesn't have to play any card.  That's how he'll be portrayed in either event.....

Like I said, genius.

I'm glad he's in the field though.  Any tournament, and especially a major, is just that much more entertaining when he's around!

Its what golf magazines say.

But you always hear that; or at least I have. Most things I have read and the lessons I took from two different instructors both told me to try an limit the head dropping. I use to do it a lot, now not so much and my swing is better. I don't notice it nearly as much on Rory either.

Yeah and by scooping his drives to me it looks like his head is dipping. Shoulder as well.

Head moving vertically isn't necessarily a problem. Tiger's been doing it forever and he's done OK. It could of course have gotten worse or changed some other way, but there is no rule that says you can't do it. You'd have to compare old swings to current swings to see if there has been any change. Lateral movement can be more of an issue, but even there, you got more leeway with the driver.

I guess you're an instructor.

For what it is worth, I have had a bad SI joint since High School.  This is being reported as what Tiger hurt.  I have knocked it out of place to where it felt like I was being stabbed in the lower back.  I could only limp around.  Could barely move and had trouble tying my shoes.  But a day or two later, if it was back in place, I could do anything including ride in a bike race.  It is a different injury than a disk injury.

Are you? You've not even provided a video to back up your assertions.

Agreed. I have nerve issues/spasms weekly. Some ruin me for 7+ days, some go away after a nights sleep.
