Easy way is delete the app and restore it.

Mine is under 600 MB.

Just had the tag on my 4 iron break while practicing today.

I tried to unscrew the part that was still in the grip using pliers but the plastic was brittle and it snapped. Ugh.

I ended up just pushing what was left of the threaded screw down into the shaft. I'll have to get the grip removed/replaced to get that piece out.

I'm kinda surprised it broke, especially since my 4 iron is one of my least used clubs in the bag.

You could have just superglued it back on.

Yeah I should have just done that.

I wasnt sure if glue would have messed up the functionality of the tag or not.

  • 3 weeks later...

Battery: I’ve started using Low Power Mode.

Stopped working midround: I’ve had that maybe twice (last year sometime, I think). I restarted and it worked fine. (I just had to add in the shots I took while it was restarting.)

Scrambled shots: yep, and it was real annoying. I figured it was some weird mapping issue, since it was a course out of town I hadn’t played before. Hasn’t happened since returning home (January.)

None of the strokes showing up: I had it lose half a round last August or so, even though tagging was working during the round. I reported it, the had me upload the log files. They didn’t get to it, and when I asked about it some weeks later, they said they wouldn’t get to it until after Pro was completed. I told them not to bother.

Low Power Mode?   Your phone?

Does the Live version have a low Power Mode I'm missing?

My iPhone. Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode toggle. Can also add it to control center.

I’ve never had a problem with the belt unit running low.

In cold weather my iPhone will drop power very quickly. I keep an external battery pack in my golf bag in the winter.

Thanks.   I misunderstood.    I've never had an issue because I don't use my phone during a round.

The GameGolf folks gave me a full refund on the Pro version I had purchased (but not taken out of the box since reading the reviews here on TST).

I bought a used Live device off of eBay for $50 and used it yesterday. I failed to tag two shots: a drive on a par 3 that the device detected for me, and the second was a 40 yard pitch shot that wasn't detected. I hit those pitch shots with a quiet lower body so I wouldn't have expected it to pick up anyways. I was really pleased with the round, and since I pace off my putts moving the flag to the proper spot post round was a breeze (using the PC). I know most of us are posting when we have trouble with these devices, but I wanted to leave a positive review in case anyone is on the fence about adding GameGolf Live for their 2019 season.

I had half a set break like this (7 or so). I emailed Game Golf and told them the weld was bad along with pictures like you have here and they sent me a whole new set free.

I have ran into a few issues using GG Live. I noticed it is not accurate at picking up fairways, my would be a good 10 yards from the edge of the fairway and it marks it has in the rough. Not sure if they can do something about that. The only other issues are the app crashes quite frequently and sometimes if two holes are close together sometimes it add shots from the previous hole to the current one. These problems have kinda pushed me from using it as frequently, I mostly only use it when I play alone now.

Game Golf support emailed me back that "we have removed the shot detection algorithm from LIVE so it will no longer detect shots."

Hmm well the algorithm worked fine for me yesterday. After uploading the round via the PC last night the 'Sign Round' button was grayed out as I had a detected shot that needed to be removed or have the club selected.

Maybe the line you got from customer support is what they are supposed to say when people complain about it not working...

I am hoping to get in another round on Sunday- if I do I'll try it again and screenshot the 'detected shot' (assuming it works again)

Swede, are you running mojave on mac?  My live hasn't worked since apple updated to mojave, gg has reccomended everything from deleting and repairing to hard reset of my iPhone!  In november I lost the ability to upload to my mac, january I couldn't bt transfer to iPhone still trying to get it fixed.  I have uploaded logs and sent all sorts of screenshots to no avail very frustrating to not even get 6 months out of a piece of tech

Yes, I'm running Mojave.  The Game Golf transfer program won't work on Mojave, so they want us to upload by iPhone only (unless you've got access to a Windows computer and want to do it that way).

They've changed the uploading steps with recent iPhone app changes.  Here's what's working for me this week, using the Live app on my belt and just tagging my shots (not using the GG app during the round at all):

1. As you finish the round, turn the belt unit off.  (I'm not sure this is necessary, but I couldn't get it to work unless I did this first.)

2. Turn it back on again. Open the GG app on the iPhone.  Give them a minute or two to connect to each other.

3. Select "Play Golf" at the bottom of the app.  It should show the app is connected to your Live unit.  If not, give it a minute or two.  When it does, tap that "Live" bar.

4. That should open a new screen showing "rounds on device." Mine always said 0 right away, but after a few seconds or minute or two, shows 1.  Press "Upload Rounds":

5. Let it do its thing as it uploads the round.  Takes a few minutes:

5. It's now ready for you to review, edit and sign on your computer or through the iPhone.  (I think most of us prefer doing this on the computer.) This part you can do on a Mac with Mojave.

Mine detected shots on Friday…?

I can’t use Transfer do I don’t know if the phone will update firmware. Maybe that’s a fortunate thing. 🙂

I've been using this method when I don't have access to a Windows computer but I think it is lame that it won't work with the new Mac OSX.
