I forgot a shot somewhere in there, and I hit a second ball on one hole that I didn't play.

I shot a 70 once! It got dark, so we had to stop after 13 holes. :-D

Shot a +3, 39.

My first two out of my three tee shots were all heel cut shots, not sure what is causing that, probably my axis tilt at impact.

Last hole I couldn't get comfortable on the tee box. We had 15-20 mph winds all evening. The hole is a long par 4, with a dog leg left, and water that guards through the fairway. I usually aim over the trees on the left and cut the corner. Tonight the wind was blowing directly in your face if you turn the corner on your 2nd shot. There is OB left just to the right of the maintenance road. So I aimed a bit further left just to give some error. Well I hit a HUGE, and I mean HUGE slice that ended up going into the right side of the pond. So lets say the ball started left of the bunker and curved probably over 100 yards right.

I am finding the swing path is getting a bit outside to in on occassion with trying to get the clubhead not inside my hands at A2. This time was BIG outside to in.

You guys do realize is it a par 34 right?  It is the equivalent of shooting a 42.  I get that many would still love to shoot that, but the goal is to get better not worse. :-D

Nevermind...didn't realize it was only 9 holes and just saw 6 over, so I didn't think it was a bad round for you.

Yeah, not your best work lol ;-)

Effectively a two-person scramble.

http://www.gamegolf.com/player/iacas/round/118780

I might delete the round eventually. The yardages are correct (it was windy as heck early in the day, so there are some long drives but there are some short drives too). I didn't add it to the GIR challenge I'm in, and the distances are correct. But I didn't hit ALL those shots (my drives were close).

So, I'm just posting it for S&G; right now. It'll be gone the next time I add a legit round.

Still at this point I would love to shoot +6 on 9. I'm more like +17 at 9 at this point.

My round from yesterday, effectively a two-man scramble:

http://www.gamegolf.com/player/iacas/round/118780

-17 had two teams T1. But they had four players who contributed. :) On the bright side, we weren't last!

5 hole round from yesterday.

http://www.gamegolf.com/player/billchao/round/119509

It's just kind of how I play golf. Incidentally, the only two fairways I hit were both grossly mis-hit. First was a topped 3w on 4, second was the driver on 5 - huge push that ricocheted off a tree to the right. I yelled fore in case it punched through, but it didn't.

Played in a golf outing today.

Front Nine: two man scramble

Back Nine: two man scotch doubles (both players tee off, pick the best drive and play alternate shot in)

Shot a 33 (-3) on the front and 41 (+5) on the back.

Just really interesting going from a scramble to basically alternate shot can be a drastic change.

Tee Shots: 4 Slices, 2 Pushes, 2 Block, 5 push draws. I have no clue were the banana ball is coming from.

Irons were pretty much pull draws for half of them. Maybe 2-3 push draws.

Putting was pretty good, maybe a lot of putts inside of 15 feet. Short game was mix. 20-60 yard pitches are pretty solid. 0-20 yards is still a hit or miss. Not too horrible in contact, just hard time judging lies on a couple.

Swing is kinda in a state of limbo right now.

Round full of mis-hits, low bullet hooks, and questionable putting. In other words, just another day on the golf course.

I'm completely lost right now.

A couple rounds from this week.  FIrst one a tune up for my tournament next weekend: http://www.gamegolf.com/player/golfingdad/round/128075 where I started very slowly and then played quite well for the last 13 holes.

The second round was a leisurely vacation round with the wife tagging along as my "caddy."  Highlights are the 2-putt birdie on 3 and the OB bogey on 7. http://www.gamegolf.com/player/golfingdad/round/129784

Lots of slightly not-great shots that I got away with. Slight pull-draw on #2 (but hit solidly). Didn't hit great tee shot on #4 but it bounced across the road. Tee shot on #6 was a bit on the toe but downwind really rode it out and rolled to a few feet from the middle of the green.

Wind was out of the south, fairways soft. #8 and #9 were right into it.

Great round Erik.

Not so great for my recent round.  Have not really played for a few weeks.  even though the score was not great I did like what I was seeing for the most part with the ball flight and start lines.  The swing changes are starting to show some decent results.  Hitting it much better off the tee anyway.  Misjudged the wind on a few shots and hit it way over the greens.  Struggled with the short game and the bunkers.  Hit a few shots fat as well.

This is my round from yesterday. It got dark pretty quickly, started to drizzle on 5, and it was cold.

Didn't hit a single green, but there were far fewer grossly mis-hit balls. That's a pretty good accomplishment, considering that I haven't really hit a golf ball in over two weeks. I tried to ease up on my swing and really focus on making good contact. I think it helped.

    • No rain while I was out (9am to 11:30am). Fairly pleasant for a late November day in the Mitten.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-25 Did the BAD Challenge and hit a bunch more other little shots. This was one of the closer shots.
    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲
