I think I know what you are getting at here.  There are certain guys who do not take "ribbing" well.  As such, we (me and my friends) left those guys alone.

FWIW, I never got the idea the @MS256 was one of those guys.

I really hope everything is fine with him and/or his family.

This and what some people think is funny, others do not

11 pages?

A gallon jug of milk is approximately 10 inches high.

Does the OP really think the water was deep enough to submerge an entire gallon jug of milk and then some? For most people standing in water that deep, the top of the water would be closer to their knees than to their ankles.

I'm guessing the OP just over estimated the depth of the water.

Probably. But he was given that out and proudly refused to take it… In fact, he found the possibility insulting IIRC.

Hey can anybody tell me why my douchemeter keeps flickering? I like that guy. He runs a golf course. There is an owner that he works for, but he is The Man. I like his A-Z golf knowledge from a "Greenskeeper who plays" perspective. I have not really found a post that connects this together, but I would love to express my displeasure with any person that was overly offensive with him.

I just spent way too much time reading this thread.... but well worth it.  That was some funny stuff!!!  Except for a missing @MS256 who must have fell in when attempting to film such an activity...

and to @Golfingdad - That was awesome!

Did he really mean he hit the ball out with 1 foot in the water?  yea thats it!!!!   That's 100% possible!!!

FWIW...

I know I'm late to the discussion, but I was just looking thru video on my youtube channel and came across this gem...

I was out with a friend and he took a 10$ bet to try and hit the ball out of about 3-4 inches of water.

That is why I never try to hit the ball out of any sort of water. I give him credit, he went after that ball and didn't back up from it. I've seen a few PGA Tour players try to anticipate the splash so they don't get wet.

It was 10.00 whether he hit the ball or not. Basically we were paying for the splash O:)

That's not even a hazard!  At least @Golfingdad made contact!

Yes it is, there is a red stake. Looks to be a small creek.

Just for the record, that's a free drop is it not? Casual water?

    • Best drive I've ever hit: I will not be answering any questions about the rest of the hole. Or the round, for that matter.
    • I tried hybrids way back when TaylorMade introduced the copper orange Firesole Rescue, the clubhead having been made of titanium which was still relatively new even in drivers back then. I couldn't hit it well at all, and while the success of hybrids suggests that the modern ones must be quite good,  I'm perfectly happy with the 5, 7, and 9-woods.  Early ones of mine were Top Flite Intimidator 400s made by Spalding... and also made of titanium, now that I think of it.  I still have them in my basement. I do bag a driving iron, but it's a one-trick-pony that never sees fairway use.
    • The last time I played Maxfli balls, Dunlop was still making them. How long ago was that? Mostly, though, I used to play Top Flites (original 336 dimple model) when Spalding was still making them. Now I play the Pro V1x. Last time that I ordered some, Titleist was still making them. Let's see how long that lasts.
    • Once, on a course in Middleton, Massachusetts that I used to love but has since closed down,  I hit the wrong half of a huge, UK style double green.  Then I made the hundred foot putt.  Tough to  forget that one.
