It may be me, but I get the feeling that Tiger is messing with people when he makes statements like this.  If he just said, "I chunked my chip", it wouldn't be enough for the media and they'd ask more questions.  By spewing nonsense, they scratch their heads and go away.  I do this occasionally when someone with no technical knowledge asks a dumb question at a meeting.  I get real technical and they don't ask anymore dumb questions for fear of exposing their ignorance.

Nice.  The ole "baffle'em with BS..."

Do you and I work at the same company? I'm usually the tech moron asking those questions.

It doesn't even have to be BS, just a level of knowledge above them.  For journalists, that is not setting the bar too high.

There are a couple of interesting points this guy has made in those links but it's pretty unfair for this guy to go on his rant the first tournament Tiger has played since the summer.  That's way to easy to do.

Tiger and Chris are still in the very early stages of their work together.  This stuff as everyone knows takes time and to rip it apart the FIRST tourney back is uncalled for.

Chris and Tiger haven't been working together for very long, heck Tiger only started making full swings a few months ago. You can't just come out and say "here's Tiger's new swing" when it's so early in the process. Of course it's going to look similar to the "Foley swing".

These two quotes below clearly illustrate his lack of knowledge about many things.

And before you talk about Brandel - the man has played and won on the PGA Tour.  Neither Como nor Foley have ever come close to that level of performance, so Brandel has a metric tonne more credibility talking about the swing than either of them.

Hey, if "Big Toilet" endorses this guy who am I to argue?

But then again, what the hell do I know?

I think Como will work out great for Tiger.

Foley also claims to have a focus on biomechanics but always seemed to be too much like paint by numbers for my taste.

All the talk about the new old makes me smile and is more or less what every fan has been talking about for years.

It's definitely exciting to have Tiger back in the game and he's still very good for golf.

    • Day 39: did top golf for an hour with the family. It was fun but also not really like real golf at all. Also did some mirror work - working on the backswing stuff mostly.
    • Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.
    • Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.
    • Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).
