15 minutes practicing my swing before my lesson.  Didn't feel like I was moving towards the ball.  Felt pretty good.  Went to lesson and the dreaded video.  Always feels like a final exam.  Think you are doing better, video shows the same flaws you have been working so hard to eliminate.  Warmed up and then video time.  Ta Dah!  No forward movement.  Solid contact, soft arms.  My instructor said it was the best I have ever looked.  Hard work is paying off.  Then putting.  On his indoor green, he set up several from 20'.  His indoor green is on a plywood base that has warped a bit over the years, so there are breaks.  I chose my line and made a smooth swing.  It slowed down right at the hole and broke into the center of the cup.  He laughed and said I was done, good day.

Putting on the ruler board 4-5 times each week has really helped with hitting my line.  Practicing every day has made it a routine that I can't miss.  Thanks so much for this challenge!

Worked on the backswing for about ten minutes, and then decided to go play. Unfortunately I live down the street from a course with no range so I "play" more than I practice. On the course I focused on my backswing and worked a lot on approach shots from 140-170 yards out. Teed off with my 3 and 4 iron on almost every hole.

Long day and the kids were "difficult" at bed time but I got up the drive to 5 minutes before I crawl into bed. No club, just crossed my arms over my chest and worked in my priority piece. UP, FORWARD and BACK. UP, FORWARD and BACK. UP, FORWARD and BACK. UP, FORWARD and BACK. Now it's bedtime!

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Took a break from the range today.

Did some slow motion stuff indoors. Sets of 5 backswing pieces and 5 downswing pieces.

Also worked on my putting a bit.

Played 18. Worked on having positive or neutral thoughts before swinging. I don't know if it actually helps, but I've had enough poor shots recently where, after swinging, I realized my mind was elsewhere. So that was the focus of today's round. 6 GIR and 4-5 near-GIR, plus two other instances of hitting the green with a full swing for not-GIR.

Worked on my new mapping drill while letting the dog out for 5 mins tonight. I'm working on keeping my right shoulder back so I don't let my head go forward after impact. I'm trying to not let my right shoulder come out of orbit.

I just spent about 10 minutes practising forward pressing then taking a stroke with my putter on an old rug inside the house.

Tomorrow I get to finally play 9 and see if these little practices lead to some minor improvements! At the very least, I will be playing with a bit more confidence.

Hit balls for about 30 minutes. Before every shot I made about 3-4 fast arm downswings making sure to take some turf. Gradually getting better.

About an hour in the yard filming my latest Evolvr drill - a diagonal alignment rod planted in the groun leaning against my back hip. Trying to turn in the backswing without touching the rod, while keeping my head still.

5 minutes working on my priority piece again. Drill swings for 30 minutes followed by 16 holes of golf with 8 fairways, 8 GIR, 38 putts , 4 true birdie attempts with tap par, in drove the ball pretty well on a quite a few of the holes. I am hoping no one will notice the number of putts I made in 16 holes. . .

Did 20 minutes of mirror work. I'm playing 9 later today.  Focused on set up and finishing my swing, completing my hip and shoulder turn from A6 to A9-10.  Yesterday I was hitting lower shots and noticed I was finishing low.  I've been working on this in my Evolvr lessons.

    • A few thoughts on the past few minutes. I agree that fairways are overrated, but Rory might want to reconsider that view in the short term. For the second time today, Bryson is hitting two shots in a row from the same greenside bunker.   Xander had a similar issue on 12 earlier today, although I think that only happened to him once today.  My mother and I are sitting in my living room commiserating.    Poor Patrick Reed, only bogey of the day on #18.  Shane Lowry had a clean scorecard with 15 pars and 3 birdies.
    • Three great shots from McIlroy's group (Smith and the US Am Champ) on 12.  The amateur won closest to the pin, although I doubt the group had a bet going.
    • I thought complaining about Fleetwood's appearance was my schtick   For real though, I agree with you, and when I see that, especially in a major, I'm confused.  When I play in a multi-day event at my club, I plan my clothing in advance because I want to look my best.   If no one else, their clothing sponsors should do this for them.  I think Nike used to do this with their stable -- I used to look forward to seeing their posts on the Facebook before majors to see how Tiger and Anthony Kim and friends would be dressed. Meanwhile, Jason Day is dressed fairly blandly today.  Who saw that coming?
    • The hell is Thomas Fleetwood wearing? He looks like a divorced dad from 1998. Even the shoes are hideous
    • I was wondering this and haven't seen it on today's broadcast OR yesterday's, but apparently Cabrera did show up.  He currently has the third highest score for the week and is playing his last hole of this year's event.  I'm not particularly keen to see him, but I was wondering if he was present, and he seems to be.
