Leishman is on 14.

Leishman laid up well left of Hell bunker. Hell bunker is on 14, and they made a point of saying it was on a direct line between his ball and the hole before he hit well left. Leishman is actually on 5.

Laid up to a comfortable yardage

I guess he did, knocked it 12 FT.

That is still 2x his normal proximity from with in 30 yards of the green. He has a 27% chance of making par versus 78%

50% reduction from laying up ;)

In that case, he's very lucky; he has been all weekend.

Leishman is EASILY the biggest let-down winner among those at the top of the leaderboard right now.

Damn, Speith almost had a ridiculous birdie chip in. Twice now he's been unlucky like that. Barely missed the birdie there, and I think on 12 (?) he put it within 5 feet, only to have the ball spin back to about 20.

And the Road Hole claims its first victim in the contenders with Zach Johnson bogeying.

Zach didn't give that par putt a chance. For the first time all day, he doesn't control his own destiny.

Which is why I pull the flag on all close chip shots as a rule...

Putting too much spin on the ball is not what I call "unlucky." He did that. You could say he was lucky to stay on the green short of that big false edge.

That's dumb. Unless the pin is leaning against the side of the hole so much that a ball will not fit you're odds of making it are better with the flagstick in. Just a fact.

you'd be wrong. Keep the pin in. Ball goes in more often.

I'd say ZJ, at least Leishman has the pathos.

He's the most likely to turn on the waterworks if he does win.
