That was a heck of a shot

Just mind boggling, as was his flop on 18 last night. Hope he makes this putt.

Ton my point, Tiger is throwing away the Fed Ex playoffs. Too bad. Had a chance to make some ground but throwing it away on this back nine. Looking more and more like an early end to the season for him.

Tiger doing something he never does-Oh wait he almost always does this just haters do not give him credit for it.

"The expert golfer has maximum time to make minimal compensations. The poorer player has minimal time to make maximum compensations." - And no, I'm not Mac. Please do not PM me about it. I just think he is a crazy MFer and we could all use a little more crazy sometimes.

Right… only they do, and not only that, but they have to pay in the whole time as well.

I'll offer you straight up odds at $1000 apiece on the two things you stated:

Tiger retires at the end of the 2015 calendar year by citing an injury (I take no, you take yes).

Tiger wins a sanctioned PGA Tour event before he turns 46 (I take yes, you take no).

Nope. I'd rather take bets from idiots, and you're no idiot.

If (or when) Tiger wins, I'm already out (-$900). That's enough for me.

Okay then. I'll just call you out early in 2016 and then again in a few years. :-)

In other TW-related news, this seems to be somewhat correct. But the next time he plays it could be 0-for-2 for all we know…

The announcers just said Jay Haas was given "line of sight relief" from a building.

This is contrary to my understanding of the rules.

Did they misspeak or am I wrong?

Never use a paragraph when a sentence will do.

Kevin Chappell reminds me a lot of the 2010 version of Dustin Johnson (on the left). Kinda eerie.

I thought that earlier today!

Troy Kelly will win for his first PGA Tour victory and last minute invitations to the PGA Championship & Bridgestone. Scratch that it's Troy Matteson. Whoops his name is "Troy Merritt".

Congrats to Troy Merritt, held everybody at bay and finished with a exclamation mark on the 18th. And look, his first name starts with a T and flip that M over and you get W. What more can you ask for?...

Dude had missed the last 5 cuts in a row. Pretty special stuff to turn that around and win.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
