Paige is the new "hot" topic in golf these days. What's your take on her rapid rise?

My thoughts: She is great for the game and fun to watch. She brings a lot of attention and excitement to golf. I believe she will be on the LPGA Tour in the next 2 years and it will be good for the whole industry.

I would also love to play Pebble with her...

No clue how good she is, but I don't think it's too wise to take on competition that will humble you too early in your new career. Hopefully, she can work her way up through the Symetra Tour, gain confidence, and then play some LPGA events (or European Tour ladies events overseas).

I can't imagine it's good for your confidence to go out there and miss the cut by so much, while being the Instagram darling that gets the media focus. Pressure has to be enormous, so that's a very short-term way to capitalize on some fame, and can quickly make you a butt of jokes.

Fun to watch?.......except for some very short Twitter/Instagram vids....how do you know she's fun to watch?....I think Paige received little or no GC coverage in Dubai.

Paige definitely brought attention....I don't know what excitement to golf she brought considering we have yet to see any significant play from her.

IMO...she won't be on the LPGA....most gals nowadays demonstrate by the age of 20 or younger if they have potential LPGA talent....if she was LPGA bound....we would have heard about her play in college.

Paige had an average scoring just above 76 at SDSU.......the top LPGA pros have scoring averages under 70 on tougher layouts vs, college competition.......6 strokes per rd is a lot of strokes to give up per day.

If Paige's scoring average is approx  76...she's likely a 2-4 handicap....I'm a 7.7 cap...so Paige would likely beat me 6-8 times out of 10 rounds.

I think if Paige really believed she was LPGA material she would have registered for LPGA Q-schools....though maybe she doesn't have the money right now....it's $1000's per school in expenses...travel, accommodations, caddy, registration fees, etc.

I don't think Paige embarrassed herself...she shot 77 & 79....not unrealistic scores for someone with a 76 collegiate scoring average.

Paige has done well based on her current skill set...Callaway sponsorship....LET event, free business class trip on Emirates to Dubai...likely free lodging and partying with all the sponsors in their palaces.

I predict when she washes out in a year or two, she'll be on Golf Channel as the cutzie of the month along side Martin Hall

Too many other gals in the GC queue...including retired/retiring LPGA pros.

Hey, at least she has a better shot than The Dan Plan, right? She shoots in the 70's in some of the hardest tournaments in the world, which is at least something even if it isn't enough.

I'd peg her at somewhere around scratch with a scoring average of 76 in college. The courses are usually set up tough enough (at least for the guys, I dunno about the ladies) that 4 strokes over par would be about a 0 differential.

Till the day I actually start dedicating all day to practicing like Pete or Dan, I would not be able to beat any scratch handicapper regularly.  Yes, on a one-off day any of us can beat any pro (us playing well and them playing badly), but that is the exception rather than the rule.

I don't think Paige is LPGA ready yet.  She needs more time dedicated to practice.  No pro I know of practices less than at least 6 hours a day, every day.

She will be one of those "Hot girls of golf" galleries.  She'd be perfect for Big Break if it was still being produced.  I don't see her playing on the LPGA at this point.

She's a good-looking woman with a pretty good golf game.  She's also decided to use her looks to get attention, and if she has a sponsorship from Calloway, that plan is working.  They certainly didn't decide to sponsor her based on her past performance.  We can't know whether she has a future on the LPGA Tour, but she's certainly not ready quite yet.

Could I beat her, at Pebble or at any other golf course?  Almost certainly not.  Sure, a great day for me and a bad day for her, anything is possible, but its its pretty dang unlikely.

What's potentially interesting about her (besides obvious looks) is that she's late to golf, unlike some of those 20 somethings who have been playing since the age of 3. She did gymnastics instead, but could / might have a higher potential achievement ceiling than some of those gals who have been at it for over 15,000 hours already. She will need to put in a good few years to see if that scenario pans out and social media attention may be one way to earn bucks for training time and expenses.

Well, she wasn't DFL so she's at least as good (had to be terrible nerves) as some of the lower rankers.

Yes I think she could beat me.

But as far as hot babes go I'm not all that into her, obviously she's hot but something about her looks doesn't do much for me.

But I do think the LPGA needs a new sensation, a girl that has the game, the looks and the personality to capture fans, Paige ain't it.

She's gorgeous and fit and fantastic.

Does she play golf too?  How about that?
