What'd You Shoot Today?

Recommended Posts

-3 on the back 9 at Crystal Falls. Β 5 birdies 2 bogeys. Β Getting ready for a tourney so I hit driver on every hole I would normally take a long iron. Β Should probably do that more often, according to the stats, but more importantly, anecdotal experience. Β :) Β Swing felt really good, lots of speed and left arm connection through impact. Β I think previously my shoulders were tending to get just a bit too square, or at least what felt like square at impact.Β  Also, need to sharpen the 50-65 yard wedge shots a bit. Β Keep swing on short side, nip it with rhythmic speed.

87 at Orchard Valley from the Blues. Β 81 the other day at Randall Oaks. Β I'm usually in the low 90's so I'm pumped to throw down a couple rounds in the 80's. Β I decided to leave my driver in the bag and just play my 3 wood off the tee since I can't hit my driver straight. Β I'm going to try to continue this streak tomorrow when I play Turnberry CC in Crystal Lake. Β

Another milestone beat after besting my lowest round by 2 strokes, shooting a 74. Was a marginal GIR day but salvaged by chipping and making putts. A big change in the game was attitude. I just decided not to let things bother me and I only had a moment with a bed drive and second shot where I was temporarily frustrated. Very happy with the round.

An 80 the day after a Tough Mudder.Β  Not a very good round, really, for me at this course.Β  Strangely enough, my striking was pretty decent.Β  Short game seemed more affected by me being weary and my calves all tight and sore.

Impressive after a Tough Mudder! I've done 2 Tough Mudder's and I couldn't imagine trying to play a round the next day.Β Hell, I'm still trying to break 100. I'm going to play a round in the morning. Maybe I can get it done...

Decent round yesterday, although I lost $19, as one of the other guys shot 69. Β My birdie on 18 saved me $7. Β My partner did'n't play well and his partner was below his handicap. Β Felt good only losing $19, could've been a much more.

39-36-75 1 birdie, 1 double

I shot my lowest 9-hole score ever! Β :banana:Β  An even Par 36 Β

2 birdies, 5 pars, and 2 bogeys.

3 of 7 FWs; 7 of 9 GIRs; 15 putts.

Typical 95 for me yesterday. Β Played OK until #15 where I had a snowman (Put my approach shot in the drink)Β

The positive thing to take away from that round though was shooting a par on the very next hole. Β Proud of myself! Β

I shot a 55 this morning at Green Valley Greens. It's an improvement for me so I can't complain. I thought I'd do better seeing I started out with par on the first 2 holes. My drives were great. I hit at least 6 out of 9 fairways. I just need to seriously work on my short game. I was able to use the flop shot fairly well after hours of trying to succeed in the "Flop Shot Challenge" lol. Either way I'm on the way to breaking 100 and I had a great time.Β

Even Par 72.....first time ever coming in at par.....left a 20 foot birdie puttΒ a foot short on 18 for 71......next up red numbers

It's getting a bit crazy right now. Β My course is a par 70 almost 6500 yards. Β My handicap the end of last year was +3.7 and I haven't bothered paying this year to have it kept since I only play for fun.

Last Friday I shot 62 (32/32)

Wednesday I shot 58 (28/30)

Today I only played 9 and shot 29.

Β

I should just quit now.

Thanks Ballstriker, I shot 58 a few years ago and never thought I'd see it again. Β 28 was unconscious...Today was solid. Β Cool/scary when it comes together.

Played with my wife today, decided to play the white tees to get ready for the CouplesΒ Championship on Sunday. Β She shot a 91 and I had a pretty good round 36-35-71 (even)

3 birdies and 3 bogeys. Β Hit the ball well.

Playing The Piedmont Club tomorrow in our inter-club B-Team match. Β Game is pretty good right now. Going for our 7th winΒ in a row.

I just play for fun. Β I've done US Open qualifiers when I was young and really didn't enjoy myself. Β My job sucks so much I need golf as my coping mechanism. Β Plus I'm old...56 in a couple weeks. Β Hourglass'll be out of sand soon.

Played our B-Team Inter-Club match against The Piedmont Club, team lost by 1 point overall. Β +8 at Home and -9 on the road. So we are now 6 - 1, still making the playoffs, but i think I just shot myself out, as I won't be a 5 handicap for much longer.

Shot 38-35-73 6500 71.6/135 1 bogey, 1 double and 2 birdies, and I started bogey, double bogey and then shot 2 under the rest of the way. Β Had a chance to halve the last hole after I hit it over the par 5 in 2, but my eagle chip stopped about 8 feet short and I left the putt on the left lip.Β

Even with the good score, lost 3 down when the other team went birdie, birdie finish. Β My partner didn't play well and shotΒ 85.Β
