How Extremist Are Your Views?

The continuous soaring National Debt, now over $18 TRILLION, is pretty evenly split between both parties.

I took the quiz...ended up more conservative, BUT I do not believe either party at the Federal level is anywhere near what local grassroots Americans believe or want.  Big Government by either party, at the current rate of debt increase, is unsustainable.  They have all lost sight of what the founding fathers intended when they wrote the Constitution.  Our last surplus was back in the 1950's during Dwight Eisenhower's administration. They both say they are for the working middle class and will "cut Big Government", but the above shows a different story.  Unfortunately Career Politicians see it as just that, a career, not a calling to help the people, and just use it as a feeding trough.

Same here, and I'm definitely a moderate. I feel that it is unfortunate that we have only two functioning parties. Too bad we can't just wipe the slate clean.

18T debt with a 16.77T GDP. The official federal budget is only 3.8T.

The money's there to keep the budget balanced, but not the will of our politicians and associated lobbies and businesses .

Where are the independent party platforms? I have never liked the two party system.

I am a Libertarian and this year I Stand with Rand. Rand will not make it past the primaries however no matter who does I will be voting for a 3rd party. Again.

Many have argued that voting for a 3rd party is a wasted vote however I digress. Every election the 3rd party claims more votes than the election before. The fact remains that as long as the 3rd party gains votes - it will eventually become a worthy contender and end this 2 party system of political mayhem. The fairy-tale intent is that when a 3rd party does become a contender, it may open the door for all parties - broadening the views and political affiliations of the American People. I believe that once that happened, the tunnel vision most voters experience will subside and along with it would be the hard left, and the hard right wing ideologies that seem to plague our nation and divide its people.

BTW here's my quick answers :-)

Issue 1: Abortion - Bet you wish Bin Laden's mother had an abortion. Bet you wish you could give it to her too.

Issue 2: Education - A college education is not a right. If everyone has a bachelor's degree, then NO ONE has a bachelor's degree.

Issue 3: Energy - I get mine from Red Bull. Everything else gets it from Oil. The need for nuclear power is inevitable, initiate it now to give research and development a head start.

Issue 4: Firearms - They can try to take my arms, I'll give them to them 1 bullet at a time. Oh and "They"? Who in their right mind is going to have the balls to try to collect them?

Issue 5: Foreign Policy - Andrew Jackson had it right. So did Chris Kyle.

Issue 6: Healthcare - Healthcare isn't a right. It's a privilege earned by healthy living and hard work.

Issue 7: Immigration - Does your immigration bring a benefit to this country? If so, Welcome to the USA. Does your immigration not bring a benefit to this country? Welcome to the US Army, now it does.

Issue 8: Labor - Unions are worthless.

Issue 9: Marriage - The government need not be involved. Neither should the church. Americans are losing their limbs and lives overseas and you're worried about gay people kissing.

Issue 10: Taxes - Shut down worthless government organizations and programs. Watch the national debt fix itself in 10 years.

Well I initially gave myself a 2, not reading the platforms, just looking at each issue, as there are some where I would definitely have disagreements with the far left. But when I clicked the link and read the platform positions listed, I'd really be a zero.  There wasn't any issue there where I was to the right of the position as stated in the Democratic Party platform.

Maybe I would be on other issues not listed, though. On limiting welfare and entitlement spending, and on the size and role of government in general, for example, I think I would be a little more to the right.

That's kind of the point of this. Virtually nobody is "full Democrat" or "full Republican" but we have to vote that way, and so do the politicians most of the time.

False dichotomy.  If you have to fit in between the dems and the reps there is no room for a conservative.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

We have tons of natural gas, if we were allowed to build the infrastructure to tap into it, we could be energy independent, and let the middle east countries alone.

Oh no, not me. I'm basically a socialist. I guess that puts me at 0 in terms of this poll.

This kind of says it... In my first time voting back in college, I voted Dem (voted for McGovern because he wanted to legalize weed.... Hehe). I voted Republican every year after that. Now, I wish we would abandon the party thing altogether and just do what is right for the country. It appears that everyone has a few good ideas that would be even better ideas if all would work together. We're all in this together.

Yea I used to work in the oil patch when I lived in Wyoming. We were burning off Natural gas like it was nothing. Eventually we hit so much of it in the well, it became profitable to build a pipeline to preserve and sell it.

Too bad this areas jobs are all in other countries... I guess the politicians still work for the people that hold these jobs...

I am more conservative than I thought.  Not really close to the center at all.

Please give me some comfort today will you people and tell me you don't stand with the Obama administration and his failed policies and progressive socialist agenda.

And please comfort me one last time by telling me that there isn't anyway you would ever vote for Hillary Clinton

1. Is that copied from a Facebook article or the RNC? I've seen it sooooo many times.

2. Given the choice between Trump and Hillary, Hillary all day long.

Both are unfortunate choices, and I would have to hold my nose while voting. I am more for Jon Huntsman and his hot daughters.
