It's a rough tournament, Bryson in his post round interview mentioned he was lagging because of not managing his energy correctly over the course of the four days.

Spieth has proven himself, now he has to approach golf as a seasoned professional who makes better decisions about the tournaments he plays in and make the most of each tournament he enters.

I agree but also love his response to questions about it.  He doesn't regret his early year schedule, it allowed him to see the world and he promoted the game across the globe.  I've always admired Els for doing the same and I admired Tiger for his annual Asia pilgrimages.

I think they have learned a valuable lesson, however, and I'd expect him to cut his schedule down considerably next year, while keeping a few of those overseas tournaments on the calendar (esp the ones that pay him $2MM to appear).

Agree.

Fame is both rewarding ... and punishing. Celebrity appearances and corporate outings take a toll on any major winner - it's a race for more $$$, but it does have its costs, and this year, the price of fame was probably the cost of a Masters.

I hope so. He needs to be fresh for the Majors. I think that will help him.

Imho, what Spieth needs right now is a good long lazy vacation, no press, no media, no hangers on, etc...

Jordan picked up some ground on #1, would have overtaken with a W.

Looking more like a Big 2, opposed to 3 or 4.  Day and Spieth separating from the pack.

Rory losing ground, he's closer to #7 than to #2.  He needs a win.

Jordan needs to learn more than a few lessons from the Masters. He is in such a privileged position that to see him almost blubbering to reporters post final round like some poor injured puppy was a bit embarrassing.

Hes already won 2 majors within a year when things did go his way so he has to accept that sometimes they don't and just get on with it.

Some players come so close so many times in majors but never get across the line, Westwood/Monty for example. I don't recall seeing either of them crying about it afterwards.

The fact of the matter is that it would have been a travesty had he won this Masters in my opinion. Had it been a chipping and putting competition then yes he absolutely should have won but this wasnt a chipping and putting contest and he wasn't even close to being the best golfer of the week.

He stood there and answered every question asked of him for several minutes honestly and in detail after suffering one of the worst collapses in majors history.  I am not really sure how much better he could have "sucked it up."

I hope this isn't true but I tend to agree with you.  I think he will win more majors but its so tough and he absolutely choked this one away.  Who knows he could still win 2 more this year but I wouldn't bet on it.

Pure Spieth envy and absolute BS.  Spieth didn't "almost blubber".  He answered openly and honestly, as he always does and for that he gets criticized; it's just mind-boggling.

He wasn't the best golfer last week, but he was 2nd best, which is in fact, VERY, close to being the best golfer of the week.

Not a good reflection on you Jodie (or are you also a copycat of a 70s/80s pro golfer)?

Yes 100% spieth envy. Like millions of golfers around the world I would absolutely love to be Jordan.

His post round interview was embarrassing,  pure tears in his eyes sympathy seeking nonsense.

Children  are dying everyday around the world and he just lost a game of golf.

Poor Jordan,  purrrrrrlease

Give me a break

His post meltdown interview was brilliant,he really held it together. If it had been me at 22 years old I'd have been throwing beer bottles.

I hope it doesn't affect him too much, after all he's still very young. All eyes will be on him during his next tourney..hence the media will be having a feeding frenzy...cnunts!!

I remember what Trevino did to Tony Jacklin back in the 70's,more or less, finished his career.

Obviously a poor troll attempt, what does children dying have to do with any professional sports.  Do you make the same type of post when a football team loses the Superbowl or baseball team loses the World Series and they are upset with the loss?

If you ever competed in real sports you'd know how difficult it is to lose in the manner Jordan did.  I thought he handled the interview well and was sincere in his words and emotions.

    • Just curious about people's thoughts on approach shots.  Now, I'm talking about a clear view of the green, not behind a bunker or other obstruction where you have to get the ball really high, and drop like a cat. When out 125,100, 75, 50 yards and less, do you prefer: using a single club like 9i or PW, and feeling the distance to get on the green in your swing using different clubs (9i, PW, GW, etc.) with the same swing part of me thinks that if I can get really comfortable with my favorite club, I can adapt my swing to get it on the green from those distances, especially a light pitch with a 9i from 50 yards, as opposed of hitting a really good full swing with a SW.
    • I've had fun every time I've gotten together with any of the SandTrap folks, I'm definitely interested in doing it again if its within reasonable driving distance.
    • I listened to Dr. Norton's interview/podcast last year on IIRC, Huberman. Worth listening and yes, demonizing HFCS or sugars in general as independent agents of obesity is at best misinformed. But from a dependent risk perspective the easiest thing for me to remember as a good reason to control sugar intake is that those who tend to have high sugar intake also tend to have high caloric intake.  Outside of genetic factors and type of calories to an extent, in general, caloric surplus continues to be a singularly consistent factor in determining how overweight you are going to. I don't care if you fast for 16-18 hours. or any other time-managed eating. You can only eat so much before you start storing more than you will ever use.
