A dozen balls will last me a few years.Β  I maybe lose a golf ball every 8 10 rounds.Β

You've got to start playing courses that have more hazards

who is saying that the TopFlite Gamers lose distance off the tee?Β  i havent found that to be true at all.Β  i think theres just a ton of people out there who cant get past their bias against what they remember to be "RockFlite" balls.

I read a few reviews such as this one

All Golf Balls:Β  Goodbye Pro V1 Hello Top-Flite Gamer Tour

Now that one says a loss of 3-5 yards so its hardly a problem, but some of them would say something up to 10-15 yards for the Tour model.Β  I must say I haven't seen it, if I hit a pure shot it goes the same distance it always seems to go in Feburary.Β  Maybe I'll notice something when it is consistently warmer, but for now distance wise it's fine.

Probably my biggest priority on the course is to avoid penalty strokes.Β  I think every hole on my main course has the potential for lost balls, but usually has a side you can favor to avoid the trouble.Β  It's a muni, so it isn't brutal.

I changed recently to aΒ Callaway Chromesoft from playing ProV1. Β My putting seemed to get much better with the chrome soft andΒ I didn't seem to lose too much distance off the tee. Β I think the softer feel just works better for meΒ and I would say it has improved my scoringΒ so trying out different makes of ball is definitely a good thing. Β The price (at times) is also much cheaper than the prov1 so only positives for me. Β Obviously everyone is different so I think you have to try a couple of different makes to see what suits you best - I played and practiced with a few makes and the Chromesoft just stood out head and shoulders above the rest.

I found a Chrome Soft Tru-Vis ball a while ago.Β  I love putting with this ball.Β  Mostly I just play for the fun of it, so on occasion I'll putt with the Tri-Vis.Β  If money were on the line, I wouldn't of course.Β  I just like the way it rolls all rolly-polly.

The Cally Chrome Soft is fine off the driver, but I won't play them anymore since I can't control my iron play with them.Β  The ball jumps off the face when I'm chipping.Β  Doesn't react like any ball I've ever played before, so I don't want to recalibrate my game.

If you used the Chrome Soft from 2015 you may want to stock up as I've read that Callaway changed the Chrome Soft for 2016. Reports state they increased the overall compression of the ball and added a layer to make it spin more around the greens. Initial reports say the feel with putters definitely changed. Β

The ChromeSoft Truvis is all I play now.Β  I played the ChromeSoft prior to changing to the Truvis.Β  I actually found a Truvis while playing and gave it whirl.Β  I loved the visual of it spinning on chips and pitches, and as @vangatorΒ said, the roll on the green is fun to watch!Β  Plus, I haven't run into anyone else that plays it.Β  So there's no issue with whose ball it is, my markings or not!

I know it must be an optical illusion, but that ball on the right is MUCH bigger!

Well guys I gave the chrome soft a chance over the weekend.Β I really liked the spin I was getting using my wedges. Off the tee it felt great not too much side spin unless I really hit a bad one and knew it was my swing not the ball lol.Β I had two blow up holes on the front nine shot a 50 on a par 35 ? Then on the back I shot a 39 on the par 37 uhhhh. 11 stroke difference ? My putting was horrible the worst I felt in a long time my speed was all over the place. I def need to work on the short game with the new ball and how it reacts. HopefullyΒ I get better results this weekend. Thanks for all the replys and recommendations. I am interested in the snell ball after I lose all my chrome softs I will give those a swing.Β

I'm a 91 index playing on a difficult Northern NJ courseΒ . Although I'm 56 length not a big issue for me. Looking for a few suggestiions on the proper golf ball that best suits my game

Have been using a Srixon softΒ feel ball and some assorted Bridgestones over the years

Much appreciateΒ your feedback

You can't be a 91 index.Β  Maybe you average a 91.Β  Your index is your handicap.

Need a urethane ball to really score.Β  Any one will do.Β  I like the Volvik S3.

Another vote for the Snell My tour balls. They feel nice off the putter and react like a proV around the greens. Β Not to mention the price being a great bonus.Β
