The Tour has moved on from California and are now in sunny Florida. Either would be better than being in Boston in February.

PGA National (Champion), Palm Beach Gardens, FL • Purse: $6,100,000

Decent field this year too.

I thought Doral was the first tourney of the season.  Until next year, of course--when Trump is POTUS it'll be the first major.

I heard they're letting Tiger compete in this event, but he's playing the sim version of PGA National.

LMAO!  I have grown to like it as well.  One thing I don't like, that this IS the beginning of, is a run of courses with little named stretches of holes that they repeat a thousand times to make them seem more intimidating.  The course stands on its own, I don't need to know that the hard holes at the end with all the water are called the "Bear Trap."

Yeah, that one in April with the named stretch of 3 holes at 11-13 is really annoying.

The only free rounds are the simul-cast of the weekend rounds broadcast on the OTA networks.  To get the stream of Thurs/Fri rounds and early weekend round coverage that's normally broadcast on TGC I think you have have a cable subscription with TGC as part of your package.

LOL - touche.

For the record, I was referring to this one and the tournament at Copperhead where they now have the "Snake Pit."  I don't remember if there are others (Doral isn't called "blue monster" anymore as far as I know) so I guess I was guilty of perhaps exaggerating a little for effect?  :8)

So last year the winner at Riviera finished 72 holes at -6 and this year Bubba won at -15.

Also last year, Padraig Harrington won the Honda after finishing at -6 over 72 holes.  Are they gonna make this course easy this year too like they apparently did with Riviera??  I hope not.  I like when they have a little bit of a challenge.

Well, it is free--for the Sat/Sun stream of the NBC broadcast. 

And it is exclusive early-round coverage--it's the only place where you can stream early rounds.  However, that part isn't free.  You have to log in with your cable subscription and be subscribed to GOLF Channel.

Edit I just clicked on the link you sent.  The PGATourLive app is different from what I was looking at, but you have to pay a monthly fee for PGATourLive.  I'm not sure what "early round coverage" is but I don't think it's live streaming of the event.  I think it's probably news and analysis or some other such BS nonsense that you can get anywhere for free.

Yeah, the splash page sure makes it sound like you get the PGATour Live for free, but only on the desktop site.  But when I tried last week the video never would load.  It's either false advertising or their system is broken.  

I used to have the paid version, but decided it wasn't worth it.  It would be great to watch it again on my computer but so far no luck.

I felt bad for Marino when he put the chip into the water but felt better about my game knowing that a pro makes the same mistakes I do.

I'd like to see Sergio get a major win someday.  He doesn't seem to handle the finishes well in the big ones though.

Me too. It's funny, I'm beginning to see Sergio and Philip in the same light. As Tigs' biggest fan, they used to be my sworn enemies in the past, but as they've mellowed in their maturity they've gone from insufferable to tolerable.
