Man watching that replay of the ceremonial tee shots is bittersweet. Arnie looks terrible. Real sad, but glad he got out there at least. Anyone know what's going on with Arnie? They said he is having health issues, so I take it more than just old age.

Didn't Spieth would light it up like this, good playing.

My picks, Day, Lowry and Dechambeau are collectively -7.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Curious why you were particularly high on Lowry?

Agreed, I think not as a risk/reward hole would be a bad thing. I get it though, the tributary to Rae's Creek is not really in play for those who go for it...

The tributary really only comes into play when players mis-hit or go after front and right pins, anyway. That's always the case; the green is a huge target. The best defense of the 13th hole is its green; simply reaching it in two shots does not guarantee a birdie by any measure.

Rory needs to get some birdies going.  Can't let the leaders pull away like he did last year.

What a shot Day!  Gonna be at 5 under on the front nine.   WOWZA

Is Jason Day on 62 watch?!

Seriously. Did you see the drive and approach on 9? Looks very sharp.

I've never had the fortune to attend Augusta National.  Watching on TV, though, I was wondering why there is so much manicured grass between the tee and pond/green on #12?  Seem like a huge waste.  Anybody know?

There's a good chance Day is going to be the outright leader by the end of the first round.
