Well players always defend players when it comes to rules. It's to be expected. The problem the USGA made is not making a decision. Now it's public knowledge and it's setting itself up for post-round controversy. They should have made a final decision then and there.

Yeah, unless it's a rule that they player has to be able to see it and be allowed to dispute it after viewing it, not sure why they just didn't rule on it and move on.  DJ's causing this because he's taking advantage of the situation that's being presented to him.

No?  Do you expect the "bitching" about it you're hearing is a representative sample of opinions?  I would expect people who agree with it to be a lot less vocal.

Meh disagree with that. I think you would have more of a debate from media personnel. Golf Digest is having a field day, as are some GC guys and obviously Fox.

After the latest viewing of the close up video I think he shouldn't be penalized.

Therefore, in tandem with that, I'm of the opinion that the USGA is (or already has) screwing this up.

Hopwfully DJ wins by a couple to make it a moot point.
