Anything in the 90's for me, is bad in my mind. I get down on myself shooting 85 -89 but it's much easier to get over it vs the 90's

90's make me upset as well.  If I'm hitting my tee shots decent Im ok.  Ive been struggling with the driver lately so a 90's round is more likely than last year.

4 - 6 OBs, ball not founds, or ball in hazards with the final score up around 100.   Even the beer taste bad afterward.

Bad days are when I choose to play a tight course (houses, canyons and hazards in each hole) and I'm spraying my driver. ~10 lost balls, lot of penalties, frustrating day.

Well, I'm a 13, so anything in the 90's I usually consider a bad round. But, in reality, it's usually a few blow up holes that lead to a 90's score. A week or so ago I shot a 49 on the front, and a 39 on the back. Not in the 90's (luckily), but that front 9 had two triples in a row. I think I got behind every tree imaginable that day.

Glad to hear that the ranges can vary widely, even for the low cappers it sounds like it can still be a pretty high differential.

It just killed me because it was such a beautiful day, low humidity, maybe 85F, lush conditions... but yet I couldn't make lower scores. I shanked my 4H twice but recovered really well (both were still GIR) but it fell apart when I lost one OB on #6 out of a fairway bunker. I friggin hate that hole. Missed a few REALLY short putts. Couple 3 putts and the scores add up quick.

I do think that carrying my bag (for the first time in my life) had some to do with it. But still, not an impressive round!

I'm about the same high 87-95 round . A bad round for me is over 100. Which I've had a few of them this year lol

The game requires a lot of practice. A lot of practice just to be mediocre.

I dont really have bad days. Im usually very consistent from round to round. Usually its month to month. Ill have a few months in a row where i really struggle then a month where im playing great. But all my scores are similar. It honestly all comes down to the driver.

I'm an 8. I shoot mostly in the high 70's, low 80's on an easy course. My high for the year is 86 and probably shot an 85 too. I shot a couple 74's early in the year.

On bad days I drive it all over the place, which then leads to hitting only a handful of greens, which leads to frustration at having to chip/pitch all damn day, which leads to a lack of focus.....and a high 80's score

Same with me. A bad round usually contains double and even triple bogeys. When I'm playing well, I will have pars and bogeys only.

I usually won't realize it's a really bad round until somewhere deep into the back nine. It's never that I've hit shots that are outside of my normal variability, it's just that I hit a bit more of those bad shots than normal, and I never hit that one great shot that makes up a stroke (a long putt, or sticking it close from off the green). What normally might be a bogey turns into a double or a triple. A few of those, and I'm a bunch of strokes worse than normal.

After the realization dawns on me that the score is not going well, I can usually relax. Sometimes that helps me get the score back a bit, but often not. I'll try to write the day off as "one of those days" but deep down I know that unless I fundamentally change my consistency of striking the ball, these days will happen again. So this year, it has been two months so far of 100% devotion to lessons- to see if these bad days can be dispatched of!

In my last 20, I've had everything from 78 to 99. So, pretty bad. It's not like my swing went south or anything, either. Just bad strikes, bad direction, bad putting and bad luck. :-P

This year has been odd for me. I've had two scores what I would assume as my average ( 82 and a 42 for 9 holes)

Then i have had 3 rounds in the mid 70s this year (76, 75, 76).

And then the last 6 rounds have seemed like awful rounds at 89, 88, 88, 85, 87, 88

It seems I have more bad rounds than good but at least when I am playing well my score seems to show it.

I I need to get more consistency out of my game

87 +/- 2 are your worst rounds? That doesn't sound like any 16 handicap I know! :-D

Ha!!!!

when I first created my account here I just threw that up there because I didn't really know why my handicap was.

I'll adjust it at the end of the season so it's up to date. I'm at 4.9 currently but that is going to get higher if I keep up my rough streak

No need, we'll keep it a "secret":-D
