Well, it appears this is our new home..  Don't know what happened over there but always like the sand trap so we'll just bring our ugly faces here I guess.  Hope they don't mind a bunch of obnoxious people showing up in a bunch.

Have "lurked" at the Sand Trap for some time.  Never very active.  Been active with the "family" at a site "Shot Talk".  Been a good mix of geezers and young flat-bellies.  No politics or religion was permitted.  Just good healthy... well "healthy" can be awfully subjective... discussion.  The site evidently folded with no notice.  So, some of us are looking for a place to land where we can brag about our good days on the course and whine about the bad.  And, somewhere I can expect significant criticism about my long and lengthy posts... and turn a deaf ear to that criticism!!!  :>)

Welcome to all of the Shot Talk folks,   we're glad to have you (so far).  You may want to introduce yourself over in the Welcome Everyone section, and add your location to the member map:

You may want to talk amongst yourself, see if you want to put a common phrase or label into your signatures (something like "Shot Talk Refugee"), so the rest of us can evaluate your group and see if we're REALLY glad to have you (I'm teasing, of course).  If you have any questions about how to do things here, feel free to ask.

Welcome guys (and gals).  I think you'll find this place is full of the same sort of people and topics you've grown accustom. There's a place to introduce yourself and it's pretty easy to see how things flow.  Always good to have new members!

We were all "guys".  Never could understand why the gals didn't stick around.  We were all extremely handsome, polite, and.....  :-D

Hop right in!

Since you've lurked, you may have figured out how things mostly work around here, but under the "How To..." drop down, you can see most of the mechanics of how to do stuff.

Drop yourself and the course you typically play onto the map, if you care to. Something Dave just started, but many of the names already there are guys who contribute a fair amount here, so that'll give you a sense of where everyone's at.

We were members of Shottalk.com.  I think there were only about 12 of us that actively posted.  Anyway, the site imploded a few days ago and we're trying to reunite somewhere.

If the old site existed only for the golf we discussed, it would have died long ago.  Most of the discussion was spent on what someone ate for supper, who was sneaking into whose house enjoying their better half, who from Wisconsin had the "most experienced" sheep, what wood-working project the resident craftsman was knocking out, where our Irish or Swedish or South African or Australian buddies were playing golf, or how many dozen sets of irons Steve had purchased that very day simply as a hobby.  Oh!  And how many drivers WBL could actually go through in a single season.  Was a really good group of really good guys covering a wide age range.

What I like about TST, is that the administrator has a good nose - when he smells any BS. This site is not about BS. Welcome aboard.

Thanks!  Will make every attempt to keep posting some here.  You folks have been extremely welcoming.  Just need to find the time.  Had no idea retirement would be this busy.  Play 18 holes of golf each morning.  Take dog for 3 1/2 to 4 mile walk after that.  Keep up lawn and other household chores.  Had soooo much more time when working full time!!!!  :-D

    • I know. I was just kidding. BTW - I'd take the second place with the meltdown. It would at least make a good story.
    • That answers my question.  That feels more natural to me. I'll work on that. Thanks
    • Complex question. Good players begin pushing forward around P2. Visibly around P3. They're well on their way forward at P4.
    • Still plugging away with the teacher.  I do have a question after working on some drills last night. This is something I should know already but for some reason, I have gotten myself confused. It deals with weight transfer on the downswing. At what point, should that take place?  Should it be early (prior to reaching A4) ?  I ask because in one of my drills  I get to A4, I feel the weight transfer AS my arms drop, and then go.  Now this may be totally normal, but I "feel" like this gets me in a weird timing position and causes me to try and do too much at once.
    • Tentatively in for at least one of those days. My job situation is a bit up in the air at the moment so need to get that sorted out first then I'll know more for sure or not.
