More mirror work and stretching. It's raining here the next few days so it will likely be the same updates the next couple of days

4th May,

45 mins continuing to hone swing speeds on partial pitches. Starting to get more consistent numbers:

7:00 chip - 10mph

8:00 chip - 17mph

7:00 pitch - 23mph

8:00 pitch - 36mph

9:00 pitch - 45mph

These are pretty much the same through the 52*, 56*, and 60*. PW47 is a shade quicker on the pitches, by 1-2mph. I don't care a lick what the actual speeds are, just that the same "feels" are producing some consistency in terms of speed.

Seems like progress, but we'll see if it translates to reliable distances.

4th May:- Star wars day! 10 mins full swing practice with video. The club head is slightly inside the hands when viewed DTL at A2. Need to exaggerate the feel of keeping it outside ala Rickie Fowler.

5/5/17:

Slow swings inside today, the weather  is terrible, so most of my practice the next week or so will be indoors. Focusing on flat left wrist, and maintaining grip pressure in my last three fingers of my left hand throughout the swing.

May 5 - Very easy mirror work. I'm sore all over. Left ankle, right knee, right SI joint, left wrist. It reminds me of how I felt the morning after a rugby match.

5/5 Played 18. Was +4 through 8 (which is unspeakably phenomenal for me) then earned myself three 10's in the next 5 holes. :pound:

Spent 15 minutes pondering the meaning of life.

Spent another hour later on reading about simplifying swing thoughts and tidying up the mental game.

5/5: Tried slow swings for first time in a week, hoping neck and shoulder could take it. Able to get a full shoulder turn, but difficult to keep from turning with my torso.  I will need to swing cautiously at the TST outing over the next two days- no sense compounding an injury.

The weather cleared up so I made it to the range. Still really working on the hip turn. Got some new video today and really frustrated that everything looks exactly the same. There has been no change at all. I'll keep plugging away but I really would like to see some change....We stayed at the range for about 1.5 hours. Worked on the swing for about an hour and then me and Jacob had a competition to see who could get closest to the range markers for various yardages.

5/5: 5 mins. conditioning drills w/OW; full swings, focused on hip turn leading the parade down
10 mins. work w/Momentus; slow swings focused on clubface control
Went to course....
40 min range session; worked mix of all club types; focused on pulling butt of shaft down into ball & clubface control
Walked 9 holes; same keys from range; focus on pulling butt of shaft down into ball (so no flip) & clubface control
Struck it better, especially with the driver, and no pull hooks today; but topped a couple of 3 wood shots...dunno why
Hit more fairways & greens than normal, just edged by 3 birdie putts, but overall much better than earlier this week

5th May:- 15 mins full swing practice, outdoors. As part of the backswing work I've been doing, today was focused on the setup posture. Specifically, with feeling that my butt was more "tucked under" my upper body at address. The increased stability from this meant that I was able to turn more fully from A2 up to A4. Very helpful.

6th May.

10 mins trying to keep the clubhead outside of the hands during the takeaway and backswing.

1 minute spent hoping I can do it on the course.
