Ask the coach at U.C. San Diego.  He/she can give you guidance as to what they look for as a member of their team.

^ what he said. Wouldn't hurt to put together a cover sheet and resume with your school accomplishments, charity work, and golf accomplishments and send to the coaches and introduce yourself. Good luck!

Good advice above. If you can make some noise in AJGA, and your state high school competitions, and keep your GPA up, I figure somebody's gotta notice you! There's a local kid that I ran into, I'm thinking, 4 years ago now. He was just blistering the course behind us, so we waved him up to the tee and let him play through. He was by himself but had his Mom in the cart. He had a swing to die for, and bombed a drive out there so far we were stunned! He thanked us and as he left the tee I asked if he played for anybody. He said he'd be playing for Columbiana HS that Fall since he just graduated from 8th Grade! He won the Ohio High School Boy's Championship last year as a Junior, and already has a full ride to Wake Forest! Nice, huh?!

Solid grades really help. One of the biggest challenges college golfers face is time management. Starters will miss quite a few classes - especially during spring tournament play - and keeping up with your classes is critical.

Focus, connect and follow through!

You've asked the question once, this past Sunday.  Did you think you'd get different answers by asking it again 4 days later?

Really depends on how you play in these tournaments. I know a kid that was kind of a late bloomer that just won a big junior event in his senior year and that helped him get a scholarship to San Diego State. I think his handicap is a 0 or +1.

For a D1 school you'll need to be shooting pretty close to your handicap with a decent amount of rounds better/under par.

Best of luck!

I apologize, I should have approached that differently.  However, if you want more input than you've received already, its better to "bump" your original thread, as opposed to opening multiple threads that all ask the identical question.

Good luck with your golf and college careers!

If you play well in Junior tournaments you won't have to look for a college to play golf at. They will come looking for you. Keep your GPA where it is.

To start with, you might be better off making sure you get into college in the first place. Presumably there are basic literacy standards.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I don't think so.  They are more concerned with creating coloring stations in colleges these days.  It is also really hard to type this while holding my fidget spinner.   It's stressing me out.

The reply was harsh but your response may be a quick way to get no help.

Grades, doing well in tournaments, and staying in touch with coaches is my advice. Get ahead of the game because there are MANY players trying to get those few spots.
