I keep getting this message, along with the opportunity of a lifetime to buy more storage. 90% of the backup stuff are photos. I also use flash drives, and play them on a digital photo frame.

Do any of you pay extra for One Drive storage? If not, what do you use for backup? I had a hard drive crash a few years ago and lost about 1000 photos that I had not backed up.

Google Drive and Dropbox for me.   There are others that are free.   I doubt I'd ever pay for cloud storage.   You could always copy them to a DVD.

I've been using Windows for a few months now and got this message recently.  I didn't realize some of my folders were automatically on OneDrive, including a 3.5GB virtual machine.  I'll be fixing that before too long, which will solve the "low on space on OneDrive" problem too.

I primarily use Google Drive and Dropbox, and I can't see paying for cloud storage just yet either.

I pay for Dropbox AND CrashPlan.

If you're not backing your files up to a cloud storage service, you're even more in danger of losing files.

Local only doesn't cut it.

Google Drive and the $20/year  for  100GB.  My iPhone syncs all my photos to Google Photos.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

We switched from Dropbox to OneDrive when our organization adopted Office 365. I hate it. Tons of issues. Good concept but bad platform.

I'm paranoid, I pay for OneDrive, Google Drive and AWS have a decent amount of space on free Dropbox from promotions. The Microsoft Office+OneDrive plan is actually not bad if you need Office. Heck, I store hard drives and flash drives in the safety deposit box at the bank. Rule of 3.

Dell is offering 1 year of Dropbox Plus normally $100, for $60 plus you get a Dell $25 gift card, use it to buy extra cables or apply it to a hard drive.

If there's a gotcha with this, I'm don't know what it is, just relaying it from another source.

Our company uses MozyPro for backup.  I use my internal HD, time machine backup SSD, portable HDD, and of course MozyPro.

I used to use Google drive and One drive, but since they are not encrypted, I don't use those anymore.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
