I'm conflicted on these picture-in-picture commercials. On one hand, it really feels like NBC is overloading us with commercials. On the other hand, all they'd really be able to show is guys walking or a few out-of-contention players finishing up, so is adding commentators back in all that great?

I just can't get over how choppy this feels though. It's like Spieth and Kuchar hit their shots and we're right back to commercials. All round. 

And it gives the commentators next to no time to set up the shot: tell us the yardage, what the wind is doing, etc.

No. There was no line of sight issue. He was behind a dune. He took a simple unplayable.

According to a few guys who were there. Simple unplayable. Don't give weight to what the TV guys were speculating about.

And now it's official.  The next two majors we get to watch have people who could win it to finish a career slam (Jordan in the PGA, Rory and Ernie in the Masters, although Ernie needs to get there I think).

Wow. You have to admire someone who can compose himself and come back from that disasterous tee shot on 13 to finish birdie-eagle-birdie-birdie-par to win. Some of the most remarkable putting I've ever seen, especially to close a major.

Like most everyone, I'll be happy to see Kuchar win a major, no one more deserving.

      Code of Conduct Not Entered as Local Rule - Still Valid?

      Rule 1.2b refers you to a section in the Committee Procedures (Section 5I) that helps explain what a Code of Conduct may (and may not) do.  Defining acceptable behavior (including smoking) and applying Stroke of DQ penalties are certainly within the Committee's authority. That Code of Conduct certainly should be available, either in written form or in a webpage accessible to all.  It may not show up on the "standard local rules" for an organization, the "hard card", as it sounds like its a policy of this particular golf course. Assuming that's the case it should show up on the Notice to Players for this particular event.  If you can't find it, ask someone, send an email, try to find out.   In summary, yes the Committee can DQ (or withdraw) a Player for smoking, even before or between rounds.  But its up to you to go from there, communication is the key here.

      Hmm... I not sure I completely understand. If the course has a no smoking policy, then he shouldn't smoke at the course.  I'm assuming since you are aware of the policy, it must be written down somewhere.  As far as getting disqualified from the tournament, I would think that would be up to the committee. But it feels like it is within their power to disqualify, so why take the chance?
