0 sixes on par 3s, 14 sixes or higher on par 4s, 9 sixes or higher on par 5s - over my 24 rounds this summer.  Only 7 out of 24 rounds did I have no 6s or higher. I had three 9 hole stints with only 4s or less, but I never made it 18. I ❤️ par 5s.

Given that I probably play about 2.1 or 2.2x as many par 4s as par 5s, that makes 14 sixes on par 4s and 9 sixes on par 5s more reasonable, but you can clearly see I struggle more on par 4s still, given that those were doubles.  Averaged 3.19 on 3s, 4.21 on 4s, 4.83 on 5s over the summer.

So @Unforgiven93 are you claiming the no six challenge? Let's see a scorecard or a testament about the most recent no-six round or something, mmmkay?

Yeah, my last recorded one at least.  I got lazy and stopped recording in July.  But to be totally honest, I've been in such a big slump that there is a decent chance that was my true most recent anyway 😔

I have not had a 6 in probably 6 months. Maybe 30+ rounds, or so.

I ha e screwed the pooch on a few par 3s though...lol

I have been playing pretty consistent golf, for quite a while now. That feels better than "no 6s" to me.

I finally did it! Even when I shot a 68, I had a 6. Well, that ended today.

Reading LSW through, but haven't implemented any of the practices or strategies yet. However, I think just reading through it, some of it is seeping into my game. Great book.

After a year or two of coaching my college golf team, I came up with a challenge for them, as they would make too many stupid mistakes on the par fives in particular, and on too many par fours trying to hit a hero shot when they got into trouble.

The challenge? It's simple: don't make a six (or higher).

Despite many, many rounds in the 70s or low 80s, and 75 rounds played in total, we have still only had about seven successfully completed rounds.

I almost never have a six. Greater than half of my rounds are played without a six. I'll take a bogey on a par four, and I rarely bogey par fives. I understand my Shot Zones, the Penalty Buffer, and Decision Maps.

So, let's have this topic stand as an ongoing one. When you complete a round successfully without a six (or higher), post here and tell us about it.

P.S. If you're an 18 handicap index or higher, you can post if you complete the "Seven Challenge." That means no sevens or higher.

Yesterday I almost got a six on a par 5 but I sank a 35-foot putt to keep the challenge alive.

I have never come close to a no six round.  I worked hard over the winter on my swing and my misses are less dangerous, my shot cone(?) became smaller.

Wednesday I shot an 81 with one 6 on a par five.  The par five was the first hole straight out of the car.  I really wanted to shoot a 79, never hit the 70's I realized the no sixes after.

    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
    • I don't think you can snag lpga.golf without the actual LPGA having a reasonable claim to it. You can find a ton of articles of things like this, but basically: 5 Domain Name Battles of the Early Web At the dawn of the world wide web, early adopters were scooping up domain names like crazy. Which led to quite a few battles over everything from MTV.com You could buy it, though, and hope the LPGA will give you a thousand bucks for it, or tickets to an event, or something like that. It'd certainly be cheaper than suing you to get it back, even though they'd likely win. As for whether women and golfers can learn that ".golf" is a valid domain, I think that's up to you knowing your audience. My daughter has natalie.golf and I have erik.golf.
