3/31/18: Day 365: The post you've all been waiting for.  I did some more work with my A4 to A5 drills. I know it seems like it's monotonous and stupid... But yesterday after I posted I

Well I'm at 276 consecutive days. 1/1/18: I did my path drill indoors today. For those of you who don't know what this is, it involves 2 to 4 water or soda bottles a club and a foam ball. I

Day 287

Ball striking has been iffy for the last few practice sessions and I feel like I’m doing something weird with my hands and arms. So I went back to a basic drill of slow speed 9-3 swings, with the feel of my lead hip pulling my trail elbow across my belly button. Hit about 75 balls doing this, with the goal to hit 10 in a row crisp (not fat or thin, no shanks), and repeat 5 times.

Day 46

Same focus and routine. At the end of my last set of swings I decided to really let one go and try to swing at max speed just to see what it looked like and I was pleased to see that while it wasn't as good as my slow swings it is on plane and no hint of my old habits. Slow and steady is winning the race.

Day #7

Worked with the Pelz Putting Tutor to work on starting putts on line.  Doing better on soft putts but when I try to hit a little longer tend to push it right.

Day 60

Spent 45 minutes on the putting green today.  Stayed focused on 15' and in with bulk of all practice from 10' and in.  All distances and putted everything out.

After analyzing my last round I need to focus on short game from 100 yards in.  That has been my single largest area of lost strokes this season.

Day 288

Did a video check of my swing. On short, slow swings I’ve got my hip priority piece down well and strike the ball cleanly, but full swings have been a mess. Turns out my attempts to not drag the club head too far inside (sub priority piece) has caused my shoulder turn to shorten considerably. Fixed this in a couple rehearsals and full swings with a ball.

Did same drill as yesterday with 9-3 swings.

Then a superspeed workout.

Then hit 5 balls with driver, all strikes in a pretty good spot on the face.

    • It’s been like that forever. Alabama is skewing this a bit.  Imagine if we still had the rules in the 70’s . 100+ scholarships. these schools are good at branding. They are good at getting elite talent to commit. Can’t complain really.
    • Mine was just a mild muscle ache, only if I bumped my shoulder, for a day or two.  Didn't notice it in daily activity or swinging a club.  (Moderna.)  Second dose later this week.
    • Well you can’t really count 2020 as it was just a cluster f*** like most sports and everything else. Nonetheless it’s a lot more than just getting the best players...which they don’t really. A lot goes into the building of a college football  team. Hell OhioSt had a massively good recruitment and still got their asses handed to them by Alabama. But...they also humiliated Clemson. So I thought there was some good football played despite the Covid mess.
    • Ok thanks, I’ll work hard on that
    • Let the clubhead fall behind you more (or make it), and then turn hard through.
