Options are belly wedge, choke up putter ball back, explosion like sand shot right? Also hybrid chip. What is your preferred method?

Fore me: (pun intended)   It depends upon the length of the putt.    I've been know to put the ball forward in my stance with a putter and I've used a hybrid.    If it's a shorter putt (under 10'), I'll use my putter but if it's longer I'll consider a hybrid.

Or you could use the toe of your putter (turn putter head 90 degrees) and kind of stab it so to speak. I've never done that but have seen it before.

Carry on my wayward drive

There'll be pars when you are done

Lay your weary wedge to rest

Don't you shank no more

Choked down 7 wood for me in that situation. I also would use my putting stroke.

If it is a relatively short putt (<30 feet) I usually blade a wedge with a putting stroke, like my 54. I've putt with my wedge and am pretty good at it. With hybrids, the face is much more reactive and I find it harder to control the distance. I also don't practice it that much.

Choked down 3wood with a putter motion. I use this shot a few times a year and am pretty confident with it.

Once you practice a few times, distance control really isnt too hard IMO.

I try to use the putter for uncomplicated lies in the light fringe. Any time the ball is sitting up or nested inside deeper grass around the green  I take out the wedge.

Sometimes I will take out the hybrid if ball in in light fringe and I have to roll the ball through multiplable crests and trough toward the hole

mark the ball with spray paint, get lawnmower and mow down the apron, replace ball, use putter

Or, if that's not an option, I'll usually just use my putter and be prepared to clean off the gunk.  (it's it's really bad, I'll blade a wedge, but I'm not good at that.
