I have found that when it comes to working the ball, I have an a lot easier time moving the ball from right to left (for a righty) than I do left to right. Any advice on swing thoughts or minor adjustments in set-up when it comes to hitting s fade? Thanks in advance.

Why do you want to/need to hit a fade?

<------ Big fan right here of finding and sticking to a pattern, except for the rare times when you need a big curve shot to escape trouble or something.

Mainly because of what you said about the rare times when the shot calls for a left to right shot. At my home course i can play my draw all day long with the exception of a couple shots that a fade would play better than a draw. I have been practicing at the range hitting it left to right which is more of a push-fade than a pull-fade.

I just wanna add a fade shot that i'm confident enough to hit during a round, im not expecting to hit a 20 yd Bubba fade lol. I usually open my stance and clubface where i expecting the ball to start and play the ball more middle of stance.

I enjoy shaping the ball.  Though if I was serious about lower scoring I'd work harder on dialing in a baby draw as it's the more natural path for my irons and 3w.  fade for my driver and hybrids....not sure why the 3w stands out.....

It used to be the other way around - fading was easier for everything.  Now it's a bit harder not to 'overcook' shaped shots - I'll overcook the draw, or I'll just have bad contact on the fade.  I have the mechanics, so the key for me is to just visualize the shape I want and not try to force it.  Stance and path seem to take care of themselves if I take a beat and visualize a bit before setting up (but I spent seasons in an indoor range learning the shots to get that feel).  It's all path control for me.

This weekend I had both shots pull off great - I hit a beautiful 6i draw on a par 5 after pulling my drive left.  Friday I hit an even better 6i fade after hitting my drive through the dogleg and had to curve around a tree.  I wouldn't trade those opportunities at all as they feel great when succeeding on purpose.  happens only once or twice a round on a good day - more often when driving bad...  ; )

My woods & hybrids all are naturally inclined to curve sharply right to left. A spent much of this season playing a fade to fight the curvature and at times it worked very well, but it's been more unreliable recently, so I've gone back to playing a draw, making sure I start the ball out well to the right - not pretty but it works well enough.

When I play a fade , I basically open out my stance quite a bit, point the clubface just left of target and also nudge the hands slightly further forward (towards lead side) . I saw somebody who quoted DJ on here who said that when you setup for a fade , make sure you fade it , I wish I could do the making sure bit!

It's all pull-fade/slice with the 1W.

It seems ironic that its the draw/hook for everything else.

I can work the ball like Santa works a sled on the range. On the course I’m just laughable.

yah, I can relate. I find most of my shots feel more natural going right to left. In prior years, just the opposite was true. I don't know why and I simply do not consciously think about it unless there is some reason for a particular shot shape. I just try to hit straight but there is usually a pattern which is a little right to left. When I feel fatigue, the old left to right will re-appear.
