Can’t believe there is no thread yet about this tournament. Tiger teeing it up tomorrow 29th of november together with Justin Thomas. I think he will be in the top 5 this tournament.

Top five is almost the top third, so yeah, that shouldn’t be too difficult.

Looking forward to it. Got my recording for tomorrow set and ready.

Might not be able to see much of this, but hoping that Rose can do well enough to regain #1

I like to watch the Hero, nothing better than watching golf when there is snow on the ground
However it is one of the events that I have an issue with how they are treated for OWGR.
IMO - to give the "Tiger" Invitational winner 48 points is disservice to all the other events recognized.

I just don't see winning this as being worth more points than a 2nd place in a tour event, or 3rd in a major; and 2nd place points in this being about the same as 4th in a major & 3rd in a tour event.

I mean you are only playing against 15 players, even if they are 15 of the top players in the world.

Just check the leaderboard...

Ugh.  I was hoping he would do better than DFL (at least through 12 holes)

Did you see the triple bogey? He tried to chip from the hazard and the ball spun back into the water. They he took a drop.

Yes, the tripple bogey was painfull to look at. Glad he made two birdies after that. His putting was also off, but nothing to worry about. Plays a lot better then a year ago. Allmost all his drives on the fairway. Still see him top 5 on sunday.

I was surprised at how low they didn't go in the first round.

Edit: Never mind, -7 is about right. I thought I remembered the lead was at -4, but I didn't watch all of the event. Derp.

LOL - the "best" part of this event is that a top 5 finish is also a bottom 10

LOL - I was totally wrong.
I should have said where a top10 finish also means a bottom 10, and where everybody gets a top 20 and OWGR points.

What a great season start for Tiger -

1st a top 5 finish (top 2 actually)

and now it looks like he's on track for a Top 20 finish at worst

I'm behind, but did he get penalized? Sure looks bad, IMO.

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
