If you never wear a glove (Fred Couples) or never take off your glove (Lexi Thompson) this is not for you. But if you take full swings with and putt without, I'm curious at what point you take it off. Do you do EVERYTHING except putting with a glove? Do you always take it off once you're near the green? Or, like me, are you a bit random about it? Sometimes it comes off for short pitches or chips, sometimes it stays on. I'd like to go with something a little more structured, so I'm curious what ya'll have to say.

I only take the glove off for putting. I leave it on for everything else. Once on the green the glove goes on my back pocket.

I used to take it off only for putting, so I'd chip/pitch/etc. with it on. At some point within the last few years I started taking it off for stuff around the green (well, leaving it off, since I take it off between shots). I seem to remember holing out a chip without the glove on and just deciding then and there that I wouldn't wear it around the greens anymore, which is probably a stupid reason to make that change. The actual inflection yardage is all arbitrary. I suppose the distinction is chip/pitch vs. full swing, but that's not a hard and fast rule.

A friend of mine tried to convince me I could save money by playing without a glove. So I tried it for 3 rounds and eventually I decided I like playing with a glove. Just a habit I guess.

Sometimes I wear gloves, sometimes not. When I do, I normally take it off only for putting, but sometimes I don't take it off at all. Absolutely no consistency for me with regards to gloves.

I've never really tried without but I'm almost certain that if I did, clubs would fly. I think my hands sweat enough that I'd have big grip issues. That said, I hate people that say they don't like something they've never tried (cuz, how do you know?) so maybe I'll attempt it at the range next time. Also, it's nice to see im not the only one who's inconsistent with my glove "rules."

I can't even stand whacking balls into the simulator at the golf store without a glove on.

I only take my glove off if I am going to putt.. And I put it back on right before I tee off again and keep it on until I reach the green and so on. It keeps thing very consistent for me and I dontnhave to worry about taking it off after every shot (what's the point if I'm just going to outbid back on for the next shot?)

I play with a glove on each of my hands.  I used to play baseball wearing batting gloves on both hands, and, I don't know, I just like it.

I only wear gloves, though, for full swing shots.  For a pitch, chip, bunker shot, or putt in and around the greens, though, they both come off.

One reason:  farmer tan. :-P

Very true, I also just noticed that my editor came up with some weird corrections. I thought I was saying "what is the point if I am going to put it back on" but instead of put it it came out as "outbid". Huh? Very strange!

Yeah, I'm not advocating one way or another, just curious. I get pretty sweaty too, but have no regrets about ditching the glove.

I play with one glove and take it off after each shot (as part of my post shot routine). For chipping, pitching and putting, I don't put it on. I get better feel without glove, but for big swings I have to be able to retain a loose grip, while not feeling that I'm going to lose the club (hence the glove).

In the rain I play with two gloves usually.

The only time I wear a glove is mid summer when it's hot.  I wear a rain glove because I sweat a lot.  I take it off after the shot to the green (or chip/pitch) to allow my hand to dry before getting my putter out.  I also wear sweat bands around my wrists.

I can't remember the last time I wore a glove to play golf.
