It doesn't look infared to me.  There is no variation for the heat his body would be putting out.

It doesn't look infared to me.  There is no variation for the heat his body would be putting out.

Infared can be in different bands and does not necessarily mean heat. Heat signatures are from Long Wave Infared (LWIR) and are the typical police chase type of cameras. They cannot easily be purchased by us everyman (at least in high resolution) because the US military limits how much resolution you can own. More and more they are loosening the noose on this to allow cars to get them but they are not easy to come by.

This if it was done in the Infrared is likely Near Infrared (NIR) which is not heat but just beyond our visible region. This is what most security cameras with the LED's around them work in.

If this is NIR then it is most definitely altered. Here is a typical NIR image with a visible one for reference.

And @nevets88 your camera can do this. BUT, you will need to take off the NIR filter that is on your camera. It is possible but risky because you can damage your camera. If you have an old one lying around it is easy to do. Almost all CMOS and CCD cameras can see NIR (some better than others) but they put a NIR filter on the sensor to block the NIR just it just jacks up your colors.

Thanks for the information Michael.  I was thinking more like the heat source IR photos I've seen.

I'd have loved to have seen infrared of Rory chucking his club into the water. I imagine he'd have been hella hot on that one.

Infra red cameras have to be set with a color pallette where a color, say red, is linked to a temperature. This is because IR doesnt have visible color itself. Generally we sell products that inhibit the 900-2500 nanometer ir range, which most call near infrared and is most definitely heat. Visible light is 350-750ish nanometers and is also heat. The slight bleed area between 750 and 900 nanometers is where a lot of regular ccds can pick up what amounts to visible ir. Somebody even makes IR boots you can slip onto your iphone because I bought one for my sales guy. Those pictures look artistically treated, and too even and consistent to be what we see in our heat photos. I think they are something along the lines of desaturated color images.

      At address? I think so. Downswing and through? IDK. I doubt if a whole lot of golfers, if any at all, deliberately think "I have a 9-iron so I need to bend half an inch more through the downswing compared to my 8 iron".

      I am listening to 23rd Street.  24 hours a day of cars, trucks, planes, sirens, and neighbors who start lawn mowers at 6:30am. I try to drown it out with 7,600 WAVE music files on a huge USB drive.  Mostly 1950's through 1990's music.

      Thanks! Evolvr, for sure. My indoors setup is pretty close to ready. I want to add a few more lights as it's a pretty dark place to begin with (old barn). Plan to use my iPhone 14 Pro, 720p 240 FPS. I think I got a tripod somewhere, but I nail everything down so I'll make a small box I can just plop the phone into. That way I know it's always in the same spot and level. How does the setup look in terms of angles and stuff.  I saw that topic and bookmarked it for later. A technique where you want the head to move forward and down? I've been doing that for twenty years! (not on purpose) 😛 Looks fun, I'll certainly try it out. £7000. That's certainly "down the line". What would be a good price? Thanks. I'll probably hold off until at least winter comes and see where we're living at that point. For the next six months I'll combine indoor practice with the range, which helps.
