I don't get many chances to play 36 in a day. But I love to do it when I can. The last time I did it was on a golf trip to Vegas last May.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

About 20 years ago when I was a youngster of 47 I would travel to the Dallas area for business once/month.  I would fly to Dallas on Saturday and be on the local public course at 7AM Saturday after a light breakfast.  I would finish 18 by 10:15, put my name on the list and have time for heartier breakfast and be on my second 18 by 11AM.  I would finish the second 18 by 2:30, put my name on the list, and grab a sandwich.  I would usually be playing my third 18 by about 3:15 and with more people on the course would finish by 7:30 and head to the local sports bar after 54 holes.  Now, I could do this when there was enough light by riding a cart, and playing Sunday morning and early afternoon when most locals were busy with their church duties.  Today it would be out of the question.

Lol I am super lucky to play 36 in a week, and my standard is 36 in a month! I have never played more than 18 holes in day, though I would love the chance to play 36. I need a golf trip....

If you’re looking for a 3-4 day golf trip, there’s some good golf here in the Carolinas. There’s like 20 courses in the Pinehurst area, and there’s Myrtle Beach. I’ve been to Myrtle, never been to Pinehurst.

There is nothing better then 36 in a day on 2 different courses.  I do it whenever my buddy and I go away because the wives don't get in the way, then a nice dinner follows.  We did it locally this year for the first time walking on a flat facility.  Next year we might try all 45 holes there.

I did this routinely back in the day if I had the chance. More recently, after a round one of my buds would suggest another 9 getting the "replay" rate. My stock response was, "Why not? We're already here!"

That is no longer my stock response! I am now 67 years old, and golf has begun to hurt! After a round my knees, shoulders, and lower back just scream at me! And the realization came upon most of us gradually. There came a point where we'd go out for that third nine, and we couldn't play worth a crap! We were all just chopping and hacking it around!

Eventually, we decided to just drop it! God bless the people who can do this, but we are no longer able.

One of the local tracks has two courses that are both under 6400 yards from the tips. I have played both of them on many occasions. I think I had 4 straight weekends where I played 18 on Saturday and 36 on Sunday.

Last time I did 36 in a day was the 2017 Newport Cup.  We rode so doing 90 holes in 2.5 days was not an issue physically.  I walk 27 a couple times a year but that is the exception.  Most days 18 is enough.

Haven't played 36 in a day since I was in college, where the local muni had a $10 student greens fee with unlimited play.

Wish I could play 36 in a day now, but with a job, fixer-upper house, and kids all demanding my time, it's hard to even fathom.

Put in your request now for a 36 hole day of golf on December 4th.  With lunch in between rounds, a toast with friends over glasses of scotch and birthday cake served on the 18th green upon completing your 2nd round.

Sounds wonderful, but December 4th is a Wednesday...this might work in 2021 when my birthday is on a Saturday.

Alright! Finished the 36 around 6:00 today. Total of 214 (97-117). Second round was terrible.
