Anyway, damn shame. So no golf for awhile. Just brutal.

Hopefully you will get back to golf in due time with a new perspective. Nothing to compare what you are going through, but I was playing goalie in a parents vs. student soccer match about 15 years ago and dove on a ball. I made the save, but my left shoulder popped. I could not raise my arm for a couple of months and then for another 3 or 4 months could barely raise it as it was so weak.

I never went to the doctor as I am leery of your type 🙂

Now playing the best golf of my life.

Kind of reminds me when my dad, a smoker, made my sister and I take a drag on his unfiltered Marlboro's to show us how bad they were. I can see you saying "look son, let me show you how dangerous these bikes can be". My oldest did a lot of skateboarding and he would come home with awful looking bruises on his legs, thighs, back and hips. At 33 I am surprised he isn't in a wheel chair.

Well I hope I recover to play the best golf of my life too. All my injuries/illnesses occurred when I was much younger and invincible lol. Having this happen now has really been rough. I appreciate you responding and telling me you recovered well. My hopes are up!

Last night was humbling. The narcotics did a number on me regarding constipation. Just awful.  The pain that would arise in the central lower abdomen I believe was as bad as the muscle damage. It would come in waves with no warning. Finally around 2am the gates opened and out came something equivalent to a Willy Wonka scene if it was a horror film.

Couldn't move due the spasms just limiting me to a slight slither like a wounded snake. But the relief from the pressure was so wonderful I just laid there. Yes, there. This repeated itself another two times and by 4am it was too much. Hoping not to disturb my neighbors I got myself up with a couple of yells, screams really, and was upright.

Took a hot shower and removed the bedding. I’ve come to realize I may have damaged my right pelvis along with separating my right a/c joint as well. Held off for eating this far as the pain just isn’t worth it, yet. But I’m getting around with a walker and making progress to some degree. Will keep posting as I can. Off narcotics since Tuesday morning. Advil and an occasion muscle relaxant as well.

Can’t imagine how bad this is for you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Well bad news guys. I’m back in the hospital and after having a CT/Abd done not only do I have moderately displaced rib fractures at 8-9-10...but I have a bowel perforation with abscess. So, pretty shocked but so glad I decided to come back in. I knew something was wrong....Anyway...I’ll update when I can but probably be away for awhile. Cheers.

At least you know now what is wrong and they can begin to fix it.

The bowel perforation can’t be new. You’ve been full of shit since you joined the site. 😉

Good luck, man. I've had DDD for 30 years. I had to give up golf for 15 of those years. With newer procedures, I am able to play again and enjoy the the game.

Finally..the JP drain came out today. CT this morning showed complete resolution of the bowel perforation/abscess. So glad to be off the liquid diet in time to enjoy Thanksgiving! I’ll take it easy but gonna enjoy some real food. Can’t swing a club of course with the back..but no spasms for several days. Outlook good!

    • The highlights as I see them: Championship and Challenger Series The creation of the PGA Tour and the PGB Tour, in the words of Joel Dahmen a few years ago. They're calling them the Championship Series (23-24 events) and the Challenger Series (20+ events). Both run February to August. They feel this will achieve three things: increasing the consistency and quality of fields across the season creating a clear system for players to earn and retain status and delivering a more structured and competitive experience for fans and partners—all in an effort to strengthen meritocracy. Championship Series Structure and Eligibility The 23-24 events includes the Players, majors, season-ending events, and the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. These will be 72-hole events with a 36-hole cut to the top 65 and ties and purses of $20M+. 120 players without an alternate list. 90 players (roughly) from the previous year and 20 players promoted from the Challenger Series. Full eligibility will be finalized later this year. Sites (cities) to be finalized soon, but 10 of the 15 courses have already been determined. Postseason: includes retention and relegation and concludes with match play. The Tour Championship will also be played across a rotation of prestigious courses. Challenger Series Structure and Eligibility 20+ events. Running concurrently. Will feature players fighting their way back to the Championship Series or players graduating and on the upswing from the Korn Ferry Tour. Many of these events will be current PGA Tour courses. About 7 of the Challenger Series events will be during off weeks for the Championship Series with elevated purses and visibility. Purses of at least $4M, with cuts similar to the Champ series. 144 player fields. Competitive Fields for Both Series Players will be eligible for only one series at a time: Championship Series Players are not eligible for Challenger Series events. Championship Series members will have a known schedule with all events having the same eligibility. Players and Majors will have their own eligibility criteria. Championship Series players don't have to play all events. This begs the question about, say, the Canadian Open, and other "home-town" events that players might want to play, even if they're Challenger Series events. Will releases be granted? Promotion and Relegation At least 90 players will be retained in the Championship Series, and 20 players will be promoted from the Challenger Series each year. Battlefield promotion for two-time winners from the Challenger Series. Players relegated from the Championship Series will have a "last chance" opportunity to retain status, or will go to the Challenger Series. Criteria will be finalized before the start of the 2027 season. Points System New points system (not FedExCup points). Separate points systems for the Championship and Challenger Series. Elevated points in the Challenger Series for off-weeks on the Championship Series. More details tk. Elevated International Events in the Fall The fall schedule will include a limited series of elevated international events with top players from the Championship Series, with the intent to deliver in partnership with the DP World Tour as part of the Strategic Alliance. Last Chance Series The Tour will develop a “last chance” series of 4-6 events in the fall, with a limited number of spots on the Championship Series available for top finishers. Eligibility will include players relegated from the Championship Series, Challenger Series players, and other categories to be determined. Q-School continues, as do the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Also, Brian Rolapp is the new commissioner as of January 1, 2027.

    • Yes, because you have lifted to like 120° without bending the left elbow. So when you turn and the left elbow bends… it bends in such a way that you then lower your left humerus and pull the club around you.
