That was great. I love the Every Hole at series.

Jim Nantz went full Nantz on this one.

Drones, you gotta love 'em. Would we get these if they had to use a helicopter?

Just sensational, as is the Pine Valley one.

Cypress Point makes Pebble Beach look like a goat track.

This Ellerston flyover is great too. More exclusive than Augusta and with a slope of 153.

Thanks @iacas. Probably the most ornate use of bunkers anywhere.

16, 17 and 18 combined prolly play 5-6 shots harder than the rest of the course.

Nantz...😁....

Ellerston pretty but looks like a biaaatch to score on.

Wow! That was fantastic! Jim Nantz could make a fly over of a putt putt course sound dramatic. I think I would wear those trees on 18 out. It would sound like a flock of woodpeckers.

I think I would rather play Cypress than Augusta. Not that I will ever get the chance to play either of them. I have a buddy who's played them both and he claims he would rather play Cypress than Augusta any day. And my response is usually, "that 's a bold statement".

My bag:

Taylor Made R7 (x-stiff).
Taylor Made Burner 2 irons (stiff)
Cleveland Wedges (gap and 60)
Odyssey two ball putter (white)

Cypress over Augusta any day.

I enjoyed Cypress in foggy that was off and on in intensity, despite a caddy on the first fairway after hitting 3 wood off the tee over the road, he asks me what club I hit 185, I told him hard 7 or easy 6.  This was balata days.  I flew the green by 40-45 yards.  I stepped off 142 to the pin.  His explanation, I usually add 2 clubs to what guests tell me.  43 yards is more like 4 clubs.  On another hole he tells me 95 yards, I hit SW 92 yards and 35 yards short.  He told me he was a pga tour caddy, so, it took me about 9 holes to stop listening to him but in the fog, it was hard not too.  The other caddy came up to me on 10th fairway...."don't listen to him, he doesn't know what he is talking about"......it kinda jaded what could have been an amazing round and in the fog, I couldn't see much of the beuaty.

The best part of that day was playing Pebble in the afternoon.  Sun came out. Shot the same score on both course, but had way more fun at Pebble.

Dewsweepers at Cypress. They allow unaccompanied play (sponsored, of course) from 7:30-8:30 most days. Probably because it is too cold for the members to play. We were first on the tee on a cold, crisp beautiful morning. It warmed up nicely by the third hole and the rest of the day was glorious. The guy who got us on said that he felt we were cheated a bit because we should have to play it with SOME wind.

5th green. I wish I had taken more pictures of this hole. Look at the drone shots and it is a jungle of bunkers from the tee. When you look back at the hole from the green you can't see a single bunker. Amazing design feature.

View of #13 from the 9th tee. This is the highest point on the golf course. You start at the ocean, work your way into the woods, slowly move up into the dunes, and slowly work your way back to the ocean. You might think it's a hard walk, but it's not. Very gradual changes.

That right there, the hole with the adjacent road (17 Mile Drive), is where I sneak onto Cyprus Point.  It looks like there is no parking so a buddy would have to drop me off with clubs.  The cost of the excursion, minus any jail time, would be the fee to get onto 17 Mile Drive.

#17 with large lateral hazard. Big Sur in the far distance.

Cypress 17 (2).JPG

Approach to #18. 18 is probably the weakest hole on the golf course, a jumble of cypresses and a ribbon of a fairway. They have to get you back to the clubhouse somehow.

15th is my favorite hole on the course by far and one of the most memorable short shots.  I can't remember what I hit, but the pin was in that little sliver up front.  I went for it.  Also went to the green on 16.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
