I thought the networks have been using drone operated cameras for awhile now? I guess for pretaped segments and not live?

Quote

This week at the Players, every shot will be live-streamed on NBC Sports Gold to PGA Tour Live subscribers. That’s more than 32,000 shots over the course of the tournament, captured by more than 120 cameras positioned throughout the course. Making every shot available was first achieved by CBS Sports at the 2019 Masters, and it could be the future of golf coverage on TV.

“Our vision is to bring every shot and every PGA Tour tournament to our fans, and this is the first step in making that a reality,” Monahan said.

This week’s broadcast also will feature the first use of a drone-operated camera.

Pretty lush, huh?

Unfortunately for Bob Tway, his 12 on 17 is the highest score for that cursed  island green hole.

The short and the long version of Russell Knox's nightmare on 17.

I’m watching “Live From THE PLAYERS” and Brandel says “he [Brooks] was wider off of the golf ball last year, nowhere near as wide this year.”

  • Am I missing something, his arms looks about the same width.
  • the camera isn’t exactly the same, so measuring the distance between his lead hand and hip won’t work....looks close tho.

I’m not trying to be some picky jerk here. I actually want to make sure that I’m not missing something. Especially with wording like “nowhere near as wide this year”

I picked Fowler at -13 to win for the Snell give-a-way. I don't think that it's a good or great pick (or even reasonable), but it is what I want to happen.

Makes you wonder if that Masters mentally crushed Molinari. He hasn’t finished in the top-10 since and appears on his way to missing his 4th cut in 5 starts. He’s a mess right now.

I think people attribute far too much to the mental game, as usual.

He got hot, then cooled off. Brooks too. Jordan too. The list goes on.

"For a few weeks it did linger, like any tournament would,'' said Molinari, who was ranked seventh in the world after winning at Bay Hill a year ago but has since dropped to 26th. "But especially because it was a major and because it was Augusta. I don't think it lingered for more than a few weeks.

He also withdrew from the API with a back injury, so obviously that wasn't helping his game.

This course is great at creating really weird/uninteresting leaderboards.

It’s going to get weirder tomorrow with no crowds.

I get my tickets through Birdies for the Brave, so no problem there. I am disappointed, but I will just go to a Marlins or Yankees game, oh wait, they canceled Spring Training.

Looks like it's being cancelled all together?

It is with regret that we are announcing the cancellation of THE PLAYERS Championship.

Not just without crowds, but not here at all.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
