A LOT of my favorite guys are not in the Tour Championship this year. Along with Rory maybe not being in it. I won't have the interest like I used to. Still am no Dustin Johnson fan and I think he is going to dominate this tournament. Would be shocked if the winner is anybody other than him.

Friday through Monday

Can't wait for this.  It's a weird one, for sure;  the reigning Masters champion didn't even qualify!  I wonder how many Tour Championships there have been since the advent of the FedEx Cup where the reigning Masters Champion didn't qualify.  Did the reigning UKBO or USO champions qualify?  I'd have to check.  I believe the reigning PGA Champ did qualify.

Me too. I checked the PGA Tour App and it lists DJ at -10. I thought I missed the first round.

The reigning Masters, US Open and Open Championship winners are all not in this event, nor are 4 of the top 20 in OWGR - Fleetwood, Fitzpatrick, Woods, Rose (though I don't think that is unusual as guy who primarily play the Euro tour don't qualify)

"That birdie moves him to one under, nine back of the lead."  Still so weird to hear, but it reminds me of a great trivia point.

When was the first time on the PGA Tour that tournaments in consecutive weeks were won by a Palmer and a Watson?

Most people would guess in the 60s or 70s, and they'd be wrong -- they're thinking of Arnold Palmer, whose final PGA Tour win was the 1973 Bob Hope, and Tom Watson, whose first PGA Tour win was the 1974 Western Open.  So it wasn't them.

It was Ryan and Bubba in January 2010 (Sony Open and Bob Hope).

It is interesting to watch these guys play short shots out of the green side Bermuda...something those of us who play in this area are all too familiar with.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

Rory's missed birdie at #15, commentator calls out he should have left the flagstick in.  Yep.

Did Rory improve his lie on 18 when he duffed it in the water?  Moving back out of the rough to the fairway.  Didn’t Tiger get called out for doing the same at the Masters a few years ago?  Looked strange to me.

You aren't required to drop anywhere but in the general area. I haven't seen it yet but it sounds like Rory dropped within the relief area and in the general area. Perfectly fine.

Tiger (that was me, btw) dropped intentionally two yards back when he was required to drop as near as possible to the spot from which he played the previous spot.

    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
