Last (Golf) Thing You Bought?

Recommended Posts

This morning I bit the bullet and got fitted for Edel wedges.

Maybe i'm a victim of advertizing, but the article Iacas wrote really got me thinking and wondering. I then talked to my coach, who seems to agree with the basis of the whole article, and he agreed that if affordable, he would reccomend it. So, I called the local fitter, he was able to take me almost immediately, and got fitted. I went with a 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64. I know its a bit overboard, but I wanted them, and I work hard for them, so I got em. I didnt get an estimate of wait time, just a 'we'll call you when they are in".

I was suprised at just how much bounce was good for me, compared to the 08 bounce of my clevelands. Replacing my pitching wedge is the one thing im not sure of, but we'll see. If I prefer my ping, ill keep it in, if I prefer the edel, ill use that.

In the Ogio Kingpin bag:

Titleist 913 D2 9.5* w/ UST Mamiya ATTAS 3 80 w/ Harrison Shotmaker & Billy Bobs afternarket Hosel Adaptor (get this if you don't have it for your 913)
Wilson Staff Ci-11 4-GW (4I is out of the bag for a hybrid, PW and up were replaced by Edel Wedges)
TaylorMade RBZ 5 & 3 Fairway Woods

Cobra Baffler T-Rail 3 & 4 Hybrids

Edel Forged 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64* wedges (different wedges for different courses)

Bag of tees, a dozen yellow Srizon Q-Stars, and a plastic hand-shaped glove holder. I'm curious to see how yellow balls work for me, although I don't have high hopes, it's worth trying. And after I wash my glove I figured it would be help it dry faster if I can keep it open and the material apart from each other. We'll see if it was worth the $4.

Mind you I will NEVER use all those wedges at once. But I love having choices for different courses I play.

Cheap tees, cheap glove, and a box of pinnacles. Although my wife spent a little more money and had snuck a RBZ 3wood into her car for me while I was playing with the RBZ line in the hitting bays. :-D

Bought this:

But with the 707D S shaft.  I love this driver.  I have two shots with it just by varying tee height, ball position and axis tilt at address:

Downwind or calm:  17.8 degree launch, 2050 RPM spin, 287 nominal carry, 48 yd peak height, towering high push draw

Crosswind or into:    12.1 degree launch, 2650 RPM spin, 265 nominal carry, 32 yd peak height, medium push draw

I know all the numbers, I know the swing, and I know from the feedback this club gives when it's right.  Best purchase of the year.

Not at the store, but my Loudmouth Golf shirt, glove, two pairs of pants, and ball marker/ball mark tool came in the mail today. Totally rocking the Boxwood-A's tomorrow, with the shirt and glove at the 9-hole. Should get lotsa looks, that place is hillbilly heaven golf club. Im suprised they dont use trucks for golf carts. Place went to hell since the city bought it. Thankfully we have two private 18's.

I just went to my local golf shop (roger dunn) very reputable. I immideately walked up to the driver i always walk up to just to swing it in the booth. One with an orange tag catches my eye. 910 d2 project x stiff shaft. Sweet im gonna swing this one. I notice the price tag says 99. I ask them what happened they said oops and went into the system. price marking error and they had to honor that price. They said they took it as a trade in for 150 bucks. I walked up and the total came to 107. I then slapped down a 10 dollars off coupon. 97 out the door for a 910 d2 with project x shaft in great shape. I couldnt be happier right now. Especially considering i almost bought a 909 d3 with a project x stiff shaft for 90 on craigslist this weekend when the guy just stopped communicating with me on a meeting place.

Just went to sports authority today and got myself a taylormade monza carry bag.

But the great part is, I got this bag to hold my NEW CLUBS!

Just ordered them last night, getting a mostly gigagolf set with a cobra driver.

I needed to keep it under 400$ and was able to still get an entire set, 4-pw, sw, lob, 3h, 3w and driver.

I am so excited.  Friday will be my last round with my 150$ super budget set.

Sunday was my first time at Golfsmith and I was in heaven!

I bought two pairs of shorts that weren't marked on sale but ended up being about 50% off, hot pink balls and a Nike hat.

I have only been playing with my cheap starter set and didn't realize how comfortable grips can be until I held the Callaway Razr X HL club. I can't wait to upgrade..

Just got the same bag in black and white about 2 or 3 weeks ago.  Best stand bag I've ever had.  Light and still carries everything I need it to!

Yeah, it weighs nothing! The straps are exceptionally comfortable as well. I Bought it for the colors though. I think blue/white is the best combo out there
