Don't do this.

I saw this last night on the tube. I yelled at my TV "NO, NO, NO!!!!"

If I ever scrapped my back foot and tapped it the guys in my playing group would escort me off the course for being foolish.

Dont they Vet this advice before they air it?

Even in 2015 on the Golf Channel.  Woosnam instructs us to hit a draw by aiming the club face at the target, and aiming the feet and shoulders to the right:

And the result: ball starts at the target and goes left from there.  Odd they didn't happen to mention that.

This reminds me of the first clinic I took with Erik @iacas and Dave Wedzik. Dave would get James Hirshfield to be the model for the discussion. Dave would have James take the club back to A4 and hold it while he talked. One time I counted almost 30 seconds. It was comical. You could tell James was starting to hurt. Then Dave would have him go to A9 and hold it. Poor James.

I think Ricky is just holding A4 and the camera man was just taking his time.

Mention studies, none specific. Give it an acronym. Imbue a mysticism to it because it's been "done" for thousands of years. Yeah, I remember reading that little article when it came out. Kind of unrealistic for Tomasi to claim that he makes no mention of oxygenation and that the purpose was not to give a detailed account of the body's breathing sequence.  He actually did spend quite a bit of his article discussing how "each nostril feeds the opposite side of your brain," how it affects "your cellular metabolism, depending on which nostril is at work," and how "blocking the dominant nostril and redirecting air flow to the opposite side of the brain eliminates stress."

I also noted that he said that the normal pattern "lets you function optimally," but that he proposes this technique to disrupt it.  (So we want to disrupt optimal function?)

My first thought was that the effects he observed might have been (at least in part) due to the physiologic effects of deep breaths.  I would have suggested repeating his study without the nostril-blocking steps. (You know, eliminate one variable--sciency stuff.)  

As a control, might also try the instructions Romeo (Cheech Marin) gave to Roy McAvoy: put change in other pocket, tie left shoe in double knot, turn hat around, stick tee behind left ear, IOW think about anything other than the swing.
