Some folk took it a bit to heart.

It's a bit like Andy Murray. english when he wins and Scottish when he loses.

Right. I was bagging on another American poster for a non-sequitir that was racist.

Relating to the Irish political troubles, however, I am curious. I haven't talked to any 'actual' Irish folks about this. I have a sister who married an Irish man (from County Kildare - and I was best man in the wedding which was over there. Talk about an experience!) and I haven't talked to her husband since the win. Wonder how he feels and the sense he has of how it's being viewed over there.

It was meant as sarcasm, not racism. It was the use of the word "BIATCH" that set it off. My reply was not meant to offend or bring up race. It was a comment about the use of language. I apologize if anyone was offended. I guess I am a little sensitive to the use of language considering my oldest boy just recorded a D- in English and his answer to that was "Ain't gonna matter anyway."  Again, it was about language, not some social commentary.

Ok, back on topic.

the liberal politically correct nonsense would have us all practicing our daily discourse before we step out of the door so we won't offend anybody. people don't have a right not to be offended, but we do have the right to say what we wish.

i didn't find anything racist about the statement.

liberal politically correct nonsense? nice.

i found the comment series racist. you didn't. we can disagree. it's not about being liberal, or being p.c. for me. it's about not enjoying tacit racism. if you think i'm a liberal, politically correct, (insert random blast into series here) that's cool. think it. just like i can think, and do think, what the guy said was racist. we're all entitled to our opinions, even if they make us like a$$holes - or something :-)

Mciilroy will only get better. especially now that he got that first major. He should have won at the masters but totally unraveled on 10 and was immediately done.

You guys are just a sour grapes because he is not born in the USA! A least he has shown some respect to people and organisers by dressing like a golfer. Bubba should go to some "stan" and roll in the dirt.

No it wasn't. As Zeph says, look up the definition.

I LOL'd at that.

I'm not sure where I read it, but someone said something about him already having had surgery. I could't find any links verifying this. I saw the bit about his back and ligaments. Did he have minor or major surgery if he did?

He had back surgery last year, not sure how extensive it was.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
